Well it started life as a 1995 Cooper spi but as everyone does i thought it could do with some more power so i came to this forum, and well soon enough a turbo was on the cards. i also had in my possession a BMW K100 8v head so thought that might as well go on whilst im at it :D
At the moment its all bodywork which is inevitably boring but it has to be done. The theme of the project so far seems to be i will start working and have a days worth of work set out and it will start too rain, and as im doing this on my drive its game over! :(
Planned spec (rough):
Engine;
-block bored to 1330 with hypatecs with extra dish
-k100 8v head, lightly ported
-CR aiming for 8.5:1
-VNT back door turbo (still researching size)
-minispares SC clubman gearset
-minispares SC Drops
-Quaiffe *sp* ATB Diff
Body;
-fully de-seamed inc sills and bumpers
-black and white paint scheme
-full rollcentre weld-in cage
-bucket seats
-internal gear linkage
-internal brake and feul lines
-fully adjustable steering/suspension geometry
-seam welded and lightweighted subframes
-all components cleaned and repainted
well i think that about covers most of it.

well with me being lazy and funds going on other things at the moment, i havent been able to get much done on the mini! im now in the garage so weather doesnt matter.
i have however managed to lightweight the front subby and get it in red oxide. also got the bulkhead red oxided and managed to be nearly finished de-seaming the rear end. little more to do on the offside and then take off the bumper lip and all will be done on the rear end.
going to have to get my ass in gear and work on it tomorrow, hopefully remove a few unecessary brakets from the bulkhead and clean up some welds on the seams and maybe finish the other seam and clean it all up.
also need to get the N/S inner wing off to and then when the next pay cheque comes in that im not paying other things off with i will have to place an order for an inner wing, scuttle and top dash rail! damn tin worm.
anyway this was just to let you know what has been going on, or not as the case is! and also to let myself write down what i need to get done so as that i have a check list to get my ass doing something!!! cheers for looking!
oh yeah and ive got all my bits to rebuild my subframes but need paint before i assemble them! and also need some 7.5" drive flanges if anybody has got any?
