Since today was quite exciting I thought I'd start a blog - 8 years into the rebuild!
Mini is with Minimine in Stoke at the minute, for nearside sills/doorstep (after an horrendous botch job by some "Mini specialist" in Bolton, Minibits I think they 'were', not sure if they're still trading? Any way...
... nearside sills/doorstep & respray. Though Mini Mine picked it up before Xmas I saw them at Himley and they'd not started it, then calledin a few weeks later to be told "it'll be mid-March" which I didn't mind, as that meant it'll be done by the end of April.
With some trepidation I called in today. There it was, stripped back, new sills on both sides, replaced rear ¼ panels replaced at the bottom (a little miffed they didn't let me know about these "extra" reapirs, as it'll be a few more quid, but looks a top job nevertheless), couple of my iffy repairs tided up and looking almost ready for a paint job - due in a week or 2. Quite exciting after 8 years! Rebuild the interior and sort the now servo-less brakes when it's back and I should be ready for the Summer shows...
Despite the delay and "extras" the chaps down there have been brilliant so far, all the work's documented with photos so [plug] "highly recommended" for anyone in the area.
