There was an article, I read where Some 60's girlie racer was not far off a 10min lap and that was in the 60's.... in a non cooper S mini

and I think the ring was longer then.

I think it was Caraline Cristabel.

I'll dig the article out tonight to confirm

The Radical SR8 holds the current production car record at 6 minutes and 55 seconds.
"By way of comparison, Clay Regazoni posted the fastest ever Formula One race lap in the 1975 Grand Prix at 7 minutes 5 seconds, a £323,000 Porsche Carrera GT has lapped in 7 minutes 32 seconds and a Caterham R500 in 7 minutes 56 seconds."

I'd be hunting for a sub 8.30 personally.

Traffic is the problem, in somthing like 75 laps I have not had a single clear run except in the pouring rain.

But knowledge is the key, hence why locals are fastest, Sabine has done over 10,000 laps apperently!

12.5 miles is alot to learn - particualry as the road conditions change lap to lap.

Knowledge IS the key.

It normally takes me 5 laps to get into the swing of a new circuit, they maybe have 10/12 corners.

Imagine how longit will take to learn the ring with is it?...140 bends?

A big task.

Its not *wink*

sub 11 is good and possible in a mini with about 70-80bhp. Well it was last time I went with 30 other minis in various states of tune!

Unless its on road tyres and looks legal it wont get out there...

its a road not a track - well most of the time, but a trackday there is £££££££

Its of course possible to do it faster than 10 or even 9 mins... just not in a slow road car!

Sorry not being clear, just wanted to know respectively how long it took for 'fast' minis to get round the ring in comparison with other supposed fast cars. Hillclimb/Sprint car was just a reference for a 'serious' mini *laughing*

Be pretty happy with 9 mins tbh *surprised*

I think i'll leave the hole at chest depth *tongue*
