This backlit temperature gauge is ideal for monitoring the inlet air temperature of any engine, especially turbo charged cars. Small enough to fit neatly into most cars, measuring just 47mm x 27mm x 15mm deep, this is an easily fitted item. Temp sensor wire can be easily lengthened if necessary. Accurate to +/- 1 degree, cycling every second for constant temperature readout.
• Will Display (+) Temperatures up to 70c
• Will Display (-) Temperatures down to -40c
• 1 second sampling

This is exactly the same item as seen on ebay for £25+ but at only £15 inc postage.

The backlight does fail sometimes on this item, hence why it is so cheap, but still clearly readable. The backlight also fails on the ebay items, just the difference is i admit it, lol.

So whats the point in having a for sale section, if as soon as an item is poosted, you just put a cheaper place to buy that item underneath??? I could undercut the price of turbo heads, which someone is advertising on here for £50, as I have 7 in my garage along with alot of other spares, but i dont, as its just plain rude!

Do I want to be banned??? For just saying what my opinion is... what a happy forum this is! I thought forum's werew all about talking and peoples opinions, haps i am wrong? Obviousely people are keen to buy cheaper, I am too, but businesses work on profit, just as you like people to donate to this site to keep it running, nothing wrong in that at all. But just to come out and say ' Do you want to be banned', for me stating an opinion, which is not abusive or has any use of bad language in it is disgraceful! If you want to ban me go ahead. I have a Mini Turbo, which is why i joined the forum, to share my knowledge and help others, but if thats not what this forum is about ban me

must be taking the Gerald Ratner approach

Wikpedia attributes the origins of the phrase to Gerald Ratner, the son of the founder of Ratners Jewelry. During a 1991 speech Ratner said, "We also do cut-glass sherry decanters complete with six glasses on a silver-plated tray that your butler can serve you drinks on, all for £4.95. People say, 'How can you sell this for such a low price?' I say, 'Because it's total crap.'"

Its all about the way you put your opinion across. we're more than happy to have differing opinions on this site but only if they are put across in a constructive way

Enough said :)

no offence good buddy if ure intentions were all good, but everyone looks out for EVERYONE on this forum, Tom is simply trying to stop some of the "greener" members being ripped off (not that your a rip off) the whole point of THIS for sale section is to get high quality trusted items, second hand or otherwise at a good cost. and alas your item seems a tad pricey. you can buy reliable temp sensor gauges and probes from maplin for a 3rd of the cost (and the back light wont fail) Tom is looking out for everyones interests here mate if you dont like constructive criticism then this forum/family s not for you......

once again not having a go take it on the chin and chalk it down to experience bro. try selling em on ebay at ure price *wink*

Come on, he ripped into Tom.

I wanted to stop something before it began.

Granted i shouldn't of responded to it.

I apologise for that but in all fairness Miniturbonutter should have something to say. As everyone has pointed out, many of us know each other well so wouldnt sit back and watch people waste money as well all know how hard it is to come by. Many people are on a tight enough budget as it is.

Alex, what does (SP) mean ? no one is having a go, I was just pointing out or trying to word better what everyone else had already posted....i must have failed

when i came to this forum, everyone was really nice to me ! and i recall trying to sell some items a while ago, but was told the price maybe too high. i took on board the comments and left it at that, and yes the goods didnt sell (so it was good advice)

i wouldnt say that this was a clicky forum at all infact probably the best miniforum around !!! just the folk on here as Iain says are "strapped" and budgets are crucial.

it may be worth while deleteing everyones replies and adding one in on behalf of the Mods it may prevent this thread spiraling totally OT from the for sale section (please read this as if iam saying it with the utmost respect, as i am *wink*)

If it had been a long standing member then maybe I would have acted differently.

But for a newbie to post, making a clear £10 profit per item for doing nothing? Having paid through the nose on ebay for one of these items personally I was not going to let anyone else fall into the same trap.

Plus the fact I then got an arsey PM, I personally doubt we will be seeing any more of "miniturbonutter", let him get on with it I say.

Now I personally think this is quite enough debate on this subject. Normally I would lock the post but I am going to test how mature we can all be to leave it at that, so it will remain unlocked.

Hi Tom, Arsey PM??? Just so everyone can see my so-called arsey PM here it is-:

"Hey, do me a favour and delete me from this site please. If your site treats everyone who states an opinion like this, I don't want anything to do with the site. Regards Steve "

I politely asked you to delete me off this forum, even using please! As I couldn't I find a way of doing it myself. I even get stick for trying to solve the problem.

Anyone who knows me on or off this forum, knows I am nothing like I have been made out to be in the last 2 days on here.

Fair enough everyone withg a Mini Turbo is strapped for cash, I myself have just spent out another £1500 in the last month and a half, after having engine troubles all year long. I also got strapped by the person selling on ebay, so was selling alot cheaper and didn't manage to find the £4.99 items myself.

Guys just a quick heads up. I contacted the store owner of www.componentsuk.co.uk yesterday about using these displays and his reply was this:

"Hi John, Thanks for your email..

If you plan on using our LCD's within a car or running them directly off a 12V supply you will need to use the following lead in junction with it..

The actual LCD's do not run off 12V they run off the 5V rail inside your computer PSU and running these directly off 12V can and will destroy the unit."
