Saw this on ebay.

Noticed it had the austin rover emblem on the plenum.

Whats it off?

Looks neat anyway

The WHOLE carb is off a montego / maestro 2.0 carb.

Nothing special at all.

as in non-turbo?

yes i thought it WASn't a turbo one, as there is no funny thing in the butterfly. or a rid in the top of the dash pot.

Yes, as in box-stock (but 'slightly' quicker than sierra 2.0 pinto) montego / maestro...

Could you use one of these plenums if you wanted to run an intercooler do you think. Obviously theres no poppet valve thing in it but using a dump valve instead should work right?

all it is, is a hollow alloy box. It doesn't have the restrictor at the mouth, nor is the carb pressurised.

All it does have is a large rubber plug that does something 'emmisionsy' that will happilly blow out the minute it sees a half-pound of boost pressure...

But in nat-asp, it polishes up champion and is a nice 'cold air feed' plenum. I purchased one, and shipped it over to the USA in 2002 for a fellow enthusiast.

Incidentally, I emailled the seller and told him it wasn't a turbo carb - he said "ah, ok thanks".

He didn't change the listing.

I then suggested he should change it as it won't work with a turbo, and that someone would be a little annoyed if they won it.

Again, no change.



Perhaps some'one' else should also mail the seller and let him know LOL!

Ahhh -1 what a great rating. Guess buyer and seller are made for each other.

Hmm - I never really clicked - but there must be two versions of these plenums, as the one in the Ebay has the intake coming out on the choke-spindle side of the SU.

Maybe one was the 1600, and the other was the 2litre?
