Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

I'm looking to run this in my mini. Cheapest i've found is £31 + £7.50 postage on ebay for the CTV 20/50

I went into my local autofactors at the weekend and asked if they could get it after spotting them had millers oil on the shelf.

Just rung them back and they said they can get it for £24.99 inc vat but i have to buy 4 x 5litre can's at once!

Big saving since i dont need to have it posted either.

Bargain!!

I'm going in tonight to order some and make sure its exactly what it should be and if it all comes out right i'll let you know.

Maybe able to sort out buying more and posting if anyone is interested. it would be £24.99 + postage so i'm guessing a shade over £30 for quailty oil to your door.

as i say its a bit of a suprising price so i'll have to see how it goes

click here then go to CTV 20/50 for the details:

Description
* Very high performance semi-synthetic competition engine oil for transverse engines which have their transmission in the sump.
* Extra high performance engine oil based on the highest quality performance additives and shear stable viscosity improvers in synthetic and mineral base.

* Competition use on vehicles where the transmission is in the sump.
* Especially suitable where a limited slip differential is used.

* The semi-synthetic base fluid formulation and special additive system provides maximum engine protection along with transmission performance to API GL4 level. The normal performance level demanded for gearboxes.
* Also suitable for conventional engines which have heavily loaded skew gears, often due to running high oil pressure.
* The incorporation of synthetics means the lubricant has flow rates close to many 15W grades, helping to reduce drag and increase power output without any detrimental effect on centre main bearings.
* Viscometrics reduce oil consumption, making this oil suitable for long distance racing.
* CTV has similar formulation to CSS 20W-50 with a viscosity at the top limit of an SAE 50 ensuring oil pressure will be maintained under arduous conditions.

* All competition and highly tuned mini derivatives.
* Provides performance that exceeds

Viscosity grade 20W-50
Viscosity @ 100oC, cSt 20.5 [typical]
Density @ 15oC 0.885

Health and Safety Data Sheet 1106 applies to this product. When used for the purpose recommended and with due regard to the appropriate Health and Safety Data, the product should cause no concern. If in doubt, consult with Millers Oils Technical Department.

not sure on the BM bit.

I did say it seemed like a good price, when i got there to order they'd given me the wrong price over the phone...

they'd given me the cost price to them!!! lol!

they said they'd do it for £30 but i said no thanks! just because i was pissed off!!!!

Even though i couldnt really get it cheaper, although if i got it from somewhere else i wouldnt have to buy 4 cans at once.

Still got another avenue to go down and if they're straight up and will do it for the same price i'll use them

*frown*

I didn't know you where setting up an account with Miller, why doesn't anyone tell me anything? I take it you're setting up the Miller account as D A Stuart nolonger have a local distributor so we can't get cheap TaskMaster any more.

That is it mate, sure I told you I was going to get it sorted .... or maybe I have finally lost it!!!

I will still be getting the equivilents of taskmaster and enterprise but since I am now dealing with a Miller agent we can get Miller branded products (which actually are what I have been getting people but obviously not with a Miller label on ..... Stuarts are connected with Miller.

The CTV 20w50 is something that I couldn't get a good deal on before as the minimum order would have been 80 gallons, I'd never have shifted that to the 998-shiney crew at the club so didn't even bother. To be fair the taskmaster holds up well in a turbo'd a series so .....

I'll let you all know when I can get it but as of now I have no personal account, just the club one. I will be setting up my own so that I can deal with people outside the club too

I am guessing postage will be an issue though as most couriers don't like to carry flamable liquids for obvious reasons!! I'm working on a price at the moment, I'm not happy with the first quote I got so am going back with the thumb screws!

There will be no problems transporting the oil at a guess.

I know main motor factors get it for £20 all inclusive in small batches.

Iain, thank you for that information ... it fits with the mark up I think they have put on it based on other products I do know the trade price for!

Vegard again but this is the one with black moly as an additive for use in cars with a dog box as opposed to syncros!

Made as a limited run for KAD but now they won't make any more even for KAD - good oil both types but Millers = BAC for not making any more lol!

Have to use basic CTV now *frown*

mine stays in for about 2000-2500 miles. Personal preference on our modified engines but would not leave mine in for more than 3000miles as the gearbox breaks the oil (or polymers as stated by reliable source) down pretty quick.
