I dont know if you gents are away of this but....
I rang Richard this morning to order my manifold as im scratching for stuff to do till I can pick up my box from Turbo Hogster, and he told me he is out of stock, and the chap at the firm who he uses to make the kits has left and no one knows of the location of the jigs etc. He advised leaving it for approx 4 weeks as he was trying to remidee this problem.
So if any of you chaps was hoping (eagerly like me this morning) to get one soon, to warn you it may not be as quick as you may of hoped.
Shane.

I got the same story last week, except he said leave it a couple of weeks - not good.

I've had problems with parts a lot recently, first the diff, now this.

Will the 998 turbo ever fly?

I've also thought about making my own, but it's a lot of work and experimentation to get it right. Plus I don't have access to machine tools (yet).

I'm sure you could do it a bit cheaper, but it's not worth the grief.

Let's hope Richard can get it sorted.

So do I. The other reason I was toying with making my own was, my shell is fibre glass so was thinking side mount turbo, but with a mirage manifold I have a solution to my heat source that ner the fibreglass worries.

Aww great I hope they don't pull the plug all together. I have been wanting to buy the mirage kit for the past while even thought I know the new engine won't be up and running for a year or so just incase this happens.

That would be an infingement of intellectual copyright, so we should not do that - for now.

We should respect the work that Mirage have done in putting the system together. We need Mirage to continue to supply the kits as a lot of us do not have the facilities to fabricate such things, me included. It would not help them at all if we start copying.

If Mirage cannot supply in a couple of months time, then we should think again.

thats cool with me, thats why i've put the offer there just incase all go's a bit scew with mirage, i defo hope they dont as its a decent price for a nice piece of kit but.....

if it does then i can have the use of facilities now to producea simular kit in small quantitys, (a friend is in the custom manifold buisiness but is packed to the rafters with work at present, & i'd have to ok with him to use his kit!

i wont put anything together at the moment, not good buisness relations/or fair but the offer is there if ppl get stuck later on

The way I read the posts is it's more of a supplier problem to Mirage. This happens, suppliers can get greedy, supliers can go bump, suppliers can become a royal pain in the butt and suppliers can always be replaced!!!!

I'm sure there will some resolution to this if I read it correctly....

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Mirage is not in difficulty! its just the chap who makes the manifolds for Richard has left the firm that he uses to make the kits, and the jigs for them have gone AWOL, He still has a set of manifolds, and the originals, but these are not for sale as he says if nothing was resolved with the firm he uses, he could then take a set to another firm, and look into a new fabricator/ supplier.
Im going to give him a few weeks before I speak with him again, I also hope its resolved soon as I think the kit is a fantastic idea.

High guys,

Really sorry for this supply issue. Don't worry the company who has supplied all the mirage manifolds to date is still happily trading. Problem is the guy who has ran the manifold fabrication shop left the company last november, i called to place an order for a batch in Dec! Last time i was over there they had had quite a few new staff. So now this guy has gone there is no one there who is familiar to making these and the manifolds are quite fussy. They are not sure where the jigs are or if they still have them.

I'll be going over to there place next week to look through there pile of jigs and see if we can sort it all out. Hopefully new supplies will follow in a couple of weeks.

I've been planning on getting in to see them for a few weeks, but i've been flat out at work i've just not been able to get away for the day.

If the jigs have gone i have sets to copy so new ones can be made. May also have a sniff at new suppliers but will go the quickest option for my next batch so i can get some out to you.

I know this is a pain in the arse, i'm really sorry. Had a bit of a run on them in Nov which pretty much cleaned me out.

Rich.

Rich,

Thanks for keeping us up to date.

I can wait a couple of months because I'm still sorting out the induction side of things - but I think others may be more desparate.

Best of luck. It's a great product, be sory not to have it available.
