I ordered a custom dashboard from ebay from this shop
http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/mini_interiors

...and its just arrived today. It took a while to arrive, but im very happy with the quality of the cut, and its much better than what i could have done.

The cost was only about £11 and im really happy with that.

I got vinyl from this ebay shop...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...96018&rd=1&rd=1

It cost £5 for a 1.5mx1m ammount, which is more than enough.
Im going to begin covering it tomorow and hopefully will have it done really soon!

Ive been keeping miniwilliams waiting for ages now whilst waiting for this dashboard, hopefully when weve forwarded some photos it might be able to get in the magazines :) Really sorry matt ive been waiting for this for ages.

yeah, i did it with my last one in the red mini with red vinyl and it looked really smart and factory fitted.

I stretched the vinyl over it and stapled it on the rear.

the bit im not sure about with this dashboard is how to make the glovebox work well, i didnt really want visable hinges :(

You can get hinges that fit flush to the rear face of both dash and glove box.

Good old B&Q sorted me out last time ... so have a look at their range of furniture fixings.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Have you thought about using concealed cabinet hinges? They are what is used on modern kitchen cabinets so you don't see the hinges.

The ones I was thinking off are designed for lids on small boxes, they have an over centre action so stay closed. I think they were about £4 pair.

Another simple way is to use a couple of short lengths of webbing strap as a flexible "hinge".

E.g. something like rucksack straps.

also, my rear seats are nearly finished. Just redone them, i did them the first time with the armrest, but it just looked wrong and there was even less space for passengers. Ive sat the seats really low, like in the rear of a porche!

dash looks cracking feebs

head straight to the arndale turn left and go all the way up market street till you hit piccadilly station, should be about a 10 min walk if you get a wiggle on.

Great looking dash mate. I've been wondering about what to do with my centre speedo... How much clearance do you have between the speedo and the hole in the bulkhead after the mod for the turbo? Have you had any thoughts about heat transfer through from the engine bay? I'd be interested to hear in how you get on when its installed.

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt... Then it's hilarious!
