Despite all the hard work the car failed me racing at Oulton Park.

Qualified in 2nd behind Paul Luti, a man I have never come close to beating.

The failure wa a CV joint snapping clean in 2 pieces, these cars do get some grief, so left me with a front left wheel making a bid for freedom with only the brake caliper holding it in place.

Tried to get back to pit lane but I did'nt want to cause anymore damage and the pit was 1.5 miles ish away.

You can finnish a race in the pit lane by parking up and waitng for the chequered flag then crossing the pit finnish line.

1 point this meeting!!

Well Jon sorry to hear that, the first mark on an otherwise spotless racing career so far.....

I would from now on place the CV joints on a scheduled change, e.g. every 8 races for example fit some new ones, if nothing else ensure you learn from the mistakes.

Yep, 2 new genuine (NOT RECON) ones sourced...

Thought I had a puncture at first...

All apart of the learning curve!

Bad luck Pal. never heard of a CV breaking, you must be giving it death. Good effort.

Yes Paul, proper tonk, more you could ever give it on the road.

Like Bud said, it is not that uncommon in racing.

The same thing happesn to lot of 4hours endurance racers in Sweden. Carl will know as he was confronted with making some in titanium, isn't that correct Carl?

Tom is spot on, They need to be changed every once in a while.

You told me that the CVs on Metros HAD to be changed every 6 races - did you follow your own advice?
