oulton parks in chester, i'm up there racing next month but i'm only there one day and i'll be busy with the car all day. i'll have a look see what time our races are and what time we'll be finished, if its early enough i might be able to pop round but i've gotta shoot off to a mates pretty sharpish for a session before MITP.

You'll sort it out buddy. Give us some more details. Write an essay if you have to. So does it turn over nice and smooth with the plugs out? If so then could be an ignition problem. If not then there is obviously some mechanical restriction.

Engines in the car.
MED built me a short motor and i put gearbox and flywheel and all.
got fuel
Good feed and it returns
battery where i have a problem doesnt seem to be turning the car over i've had jump leads on it and the engine seems to jam.
I think the engines knacked depressed all day ended up watching the golf lol.
Whats happened oil cooler pipe has got a hole and the engines lost all its oil, and its finished its self i think.
Dizzy good had it checked
brand spanker the carb
Markey tent
brew up as much as you can drink! Live on a farm, so milks on tap and, we have own well water.

Anyone willing to help i'll be there whenever, but dont want to waste your time mate if i've finish the engine.

cheers

has the engine run at all?

has it ran at all with no oil, or have you just been trying to turn it over with no oil in it?

the golden rule when trying to run an engine is get oil pressure first, did you achieve this?

ok do not dispare.
sounds like it could be a bit of a waste me coming up this weekend then.

what you need to do is do a few checks before somebody comes to help i think.

1. remove all the spark plugs and see if the engine turns over freely/ smoothley. if it turns ok then it should be startable.

2. is the flywheel the same type as the starter motor?

3. is starter motor good?

4. fix the hole in the oil cooler pipe, infact just bypass it if its easier for now.

5. get a good battery on there.

6. is engine earth good.

im sure people can add to the list.

do/check these then report your findings. check and recheck everthing over the next week. then ill come up next sat morning if you like and have a look. i did say tomorro afternoon but it seems it could be a wasted journey at the mo and ive got stuff to be doing.

Had the engine running twice never seemed to bring any oil to the rockers though. I dont know when it lost the oil. But the flywheel came loss fix that run again then stoped and i haven't had it running again.

Yesterday found a pool oil under the car and checked the dip stick no oil.

Engine seems to turn over ok with out the plugs!

Starter is the same not sure how good it is it turns the engine with no plugs.

yep i'll fix the pipe

i'll buy a new battery this week

engines earthed well

i'll check battery cable aswell

thank you very muches

Mabie It could be worth backfeeding some oil into the pump. Just to make sure its primed proporly, to prevent damage if there really is no oil pressure when trying to get running. At least that issue may then be resolved.

Prime the pump, turn the engine over without the plugs in untill you get oil pressure, I remember doing this with Wes's engine, it took a good 30 seconds if not longer to get oil pressure for the first time!

TBH jump leads won't always get enough power to the battery, this has caught me out before!

Another thing to check is the sump plug, that could give a good indication if something has been grinding together due to the lack of oil.
