minis vs nova 16v and turbos day

i have got a bunch of 2.0l 16v novas that want to race me, so i thort as there is a bunch of them, y cant there be a bunch of us to show em that minis are quicker than them?
i am trying to get details of the pod for when my mini is done, so i can get down there with these novas and ave a go at em.
who would be up for something like this? or am i just mad and goin get me arse kicked , lol.

my mate gave a 2.0l 16v nova a run for its money in his 1400 mini, i reckon you lot could give em a punishment

If you go on MiniClassic, you will be told that a Nova with a 16v will do 13.7-14.2 second 1/4 miles on factory injection.
Whenever i've seen them run at York, they do the standing 1/4 in 15.5-16 typically.....

infact if my memory serves me correctly the guy driving the nova went home in a sulk because he couldn't thrash a mini in his nova which he has spent ???? on

give it a go! do it on the road tho coz minis corner better than novas so ull do them on the cornas/roundabouts. i only no that coz a friend of mine done a scooby like that in a standard 1275gt

This Novas/Minis thing does'nt have to be 16v novas..just make it Novas v Minis, fast and slow in each group. A quick phone call to john haston, Carl Austin, Ian johnson or Chris lockhart all of which i know personally and the Novas would have egg on their faces!..

im up for it ill bring an 850cc brown mini with drum brakes so the novas have somthing of a challenge

they might have a good top end but us minis have the acceleration advantage with our minitare wheels and also the nova patrols' disco sound systems weigh them down a fair bit

yeah but the halfords spoilers will help with traction

From my experiences at the POD And Elvington The 16v novas tend to run about 15 sec quaters. but if built well can go a fair bit faster.

its an odd build the 16v nova as a few people started doing them years ago and built them very well and they were very fast. since then all the Max-muppets have picked up on the idea and have done quick half-arsed installs which are nowhere near as good

a lad i know has one its Dyno proven to be around 200bhp yet the best time he can run is 14.8 yet i know of another with 160+bhp that can run 14.5 as it was built properly with correct suspension geomertry.

so if your racing aload find out what type of people own them? max-muppets or serious speed enthusiats
