Your best bet is to try and find a local motorsport club, get hold of a copy of the "Blue Book" which is totally vague as to what the rules actually are. If you have a look on the MSA's website there a directory of clubs so you should be able to find one near where you are.

http://www.msauk.org/site/custom/home/default.asp?chapter=22

A gogle tip is to befriend a scruitineer, then you can bug them with loads of questions along the lines of can I do xyz & get away with it.

I'm sure it will be able to run in sports libra. I haven't got the blue book to hand, but if I get chance (and remember) I'll look later and see what might catch you out.

There's a copy of the 2005 Blue Book on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=230160126392

Not the most recent version obviously, but I doubt the rules have changed that much.

I've just had a quick look in the blue book section L14. There is no need for FIA approval if the car did not need it previously. Basically if you are racing a GT1 sportcar, Group B sportscar or a WRC car then you will need FIA homologation. If not then that is fine. Basically a home brew space frame will not need FIA approval. You will need an MSA logbook though.

The other thing you have to be carful of is the CC. If it is sports libra and over 2000cc then I think you need an A license.

The licence you need for over 2000cc in Sports Libre or Single Seaters is an A Open. Remember that this is for N/A engines, its 1428cc for Forced Induction.

I'm pretty sure the windows need to be 4mm, and the seats and harnesses need to be approved, but I need to check.

Yep windows got to be 4mm polycarb. Harness need to up to spec. On the regs with seats...come across an odd one. Depends on your championship regs & blue book section Q2 is vague. My sparco is FIA approved, but out of date. But I can still use it under metro regs.

For clubman level...I'm sure you will be ok with seat. The seat seems more of an advisory than a must be. Just check what ever championship regs you have.

I like nice quiet girly Minis

Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

I keep looking at Extreme Mighty Mini's but a couple of things put me off ...

1) the regs don't make sense .... soem seem to try and make it as open as possible and others seem to try and limit things in ways that make no sense in light of some others.

2) If you show up your most likely to get a podium finish as the turn out seems almost not existant .. :(

Would be great if more of us raced it for a giggle though.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

I was speaking to Iain Jubb about this this morning, I fancy having a crack at extreames, but at the moment there is only a few entries for class C, if Tom and Iain have a go, so will I.
