How easy, I havent seen many 'known' of 200bhp Minis

Are there many about? I know it might not be wise, due to reliability but theres always the odd one that will have

What kinda spec we looking at?
What cost?
5 port, or 7 port head best?
Is the standard SU upto the job?

Im just interestd, not used this site for long, and would like to know

thanks, Radleigh *happy*

I thought Nic had entered the 200+ club this year?

Also I think Turbo Phil's mate Mike is over 200 ponies now.

No two are the same mind; Matt runs a 5 port & clockwork dizzy (I think) and HIFF 44 carb (I'd guess that it's been flowed) where as Carl runs 16V fuel injected (or that's what Tom told him).

With the exception of Mr Austin's valver most of the high powered cars run big boost and they all have big ICs.

Yes And Nic & T3 tone added to this ever growing list, its all quite easy now, the technology and engine knowledge have all improved massively from the early days of the above fig.

Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

Guess a trailerqueen with a T4 and loads of turbo lag could work to reach 300bhp for a couple of secs

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

i'm nearly there, infact i'm 100% sure on a certain A series guru's rollers i would be over 200bhp *smiley*

all numbers at the end of the day, how it drives is the important bit. i know for a fact nearly all of them only use the full 200bhp on the strip, and a lot less on a track day etc.

I'm sure I heard of one in Japan the made over 400 bananas on it's first dyno run, but let go on the dyno shortly afterwards, or is just an urban myth.

Well, I've never, ever heard of that one.
Anyone that comes up with "just under / around / exactly / just over" a 'pinaccle figure like 300hp, 350hp, 400hp sould definately be treated with suspicion...

I personally don't believe it for one second.

That is 169hp/litre.

Just think about that for a minute.

anyhows 142.1mph you have to have a solid 200bhp to achieve this terminal speed in a mini.
