Pic working. You can chop the threaded boss off that sticks out on the inner wing side, I wouldn't go quite as far as the line you've drawn though.

I used a metro transfer case on mine which has the extra lump on the front and cut mine in a similar manner to what you're suggesting, not quite as far as the red line though. I'll try and get a pic of it |

Pic taken from below the car, I cut the case so it was just flush with the flange on the starter

Second picture looks better Matt, I'd keep the ring intact as much as you can, the bit in question has been removed on The DON and is fine, if you are feeling rich you might consider a Brise starter to save some more room?

Ive already twisted the starter round so the solenoid is on top. you can see the bolt hole relocated. A brise starter would be nice but im determined to get it to work with this one..lol

Rule of thumb, i.e. if my thumb fits in the gap it's enough clearance! My whole engine bay is like that |

Been there, done that, wih the EXACT same bits and gave up, keep the intercooler and use an MPi rad, that way it will fit Edited by Sprocket on 25th Sep, 2007. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:

i could be wrong, but not sure that's going to give you a great deal more than the cossie cooler. It's tall, long and thin, which will slow the air down. The cossie one is smaller but deeper so keeps air speed up.

The main problem is the throttle bodies will probably be to far forward to fit the 2wd cooler in front, thats why im trying a different one. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel

i think it will work very well, as there will be more heat lost from the front to the back of the cores . and if its of a td5 then its more than up to the job, thinking that the td5 is well over a 2ltr engine. always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |

i've got a rad an intercooler the same, never did get them fitted but kept them as a project later on. if you look at jims car, they move the front end a bit further forward. you wouldnt notice and gives vitle space.

Sprocket, did you use a subframe with the original or slightly forward engine position of the later cars?

MPi rad fits because ou can get it to sit along side the starter motor, the TD5 intercooler will fit infront of the engine inbetween the front panel, this will work.

It also reduces the drive angle of the hardy spicers, which is a good thing.
