Right here we go.

I have owned this car for 3 and a half years now, in may 2006 it was taken off the road for a bit of welding and a tidy up as the front end was starting to rot and the door steps had gone. It was supposed to be a quick off the road and fix up and back for july, however one small hole related to a larger one.

Starting the stripdown.

There are a few pictures missing from the strip down.

Things went on hold after finding more rust and bodges plus a holiday abroad didnt help things, came back carried on to find this.

Anyone want another sill?

Rust.

More Rust

Hole *surprised* Was filled with fibreglass.

Hole in boot floor.

Yard Sale Anyone?

Looks ok.

Engine In

On its way.

Out.

Missing Engine :)

A bit High.

Update later.

Good progress.

Is the engine coming out for a spruce up, for cleaning or are you going to turbo it?

I hope that those side repeater, gill things are going in the bin!

In the 13's at last!.. Just

The side repeaters are gone, as is alot, those pictures were taken last year, alot has changed with it.

Unfortunatly alot of images went missing now but the front end came off.

The car was a death trap really, the sills wernt attached to the body, just to the floor, some holes were covered with roofing felt and underseal. It was dangerous. Needed loads of parts to be rebuild so the choice was made to try find a new shell. That was done and it was arriving in a few weeks.

Here is the new heratage SPI shell, perfect for what i need, a blank canvas that i know is right, no need to worry about any botch jobs. My new rear subframe was also put out of the way on the wall.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Some more pics from the paint shop, they were preping for the body colour.

The roof had been painted and lacured (dont think ive spelt that right) but not been polished yet.

Here are some pics before the polishing starts.

You may notice the crazing on the stonechip, this is due to the seam sealer, the painters have no idea why it has happened as acording the paint it shouldnt react.

Started to prep the fuel tank too.

Shell was now done, the rest has not been painted and one of the door is full of stonechip, put it this way the painter has gone ballistic at the guy as he has also painted the front and rear valance black, over the blue!

Done more work, the front subframe is ready to be attached to the mini now, its alot heavier built up.

Also finished the rear seats sound deadening :)

Well today went well... fuel and brake lines on and the rear subframe almost on, ran out of time to get it fully on so i put it back in the garage and then supported the problem parts.

All Lines run :)

Thats how the rear subby look at the moment, next thing to do is to get it fully supported and get the front subframe on.

Went out again tonight, the subrame is on proper now :) Chuffed

Decided to see what the 10x6 will look like on it.

No arches are out of the question
