I never thought that the project would see the day when it came to be time for spraying, but I think over the Christmas break it just might happen. I know this site is more technical than poncey image stuff but what do you think?

Depends on the car,

If you've got a mk1, or you've gone mk1 style, stick to something classic.

If you've got a lairy bodykit, go for somthing lairy!, (Or just pull it all off and start again)

This was originally a poll and I f****d it when I fixed a spelling error. I am going for a more modern look.

The choices were:

White
Red
Black
Silver
Matt Black
Red/Black Roof
White/Black Roof

Cheers

Just depends on what you like buddy, yellow is quite popular see Jimsters, Giallofly, Benross, Richie, otherwise Wolfies is orange and green, Paul Wigi, Gav Wakely, Roberts and Daves are blue, mine will be red, Carl has a white one, Fastcarl has deep red, and don't forget the DON with its Almond green and gelcoat finish.......................

What I'm trying to point out is there is no right answer, do whatever you think looks good, its your car.

If your going modern have a look around some late model cars. '70s colours are in, lime greens, oranges, and some nice heavy metalics and pearls are being used on new cars (look at the orange ST Focus and Audi S3). I like them (not on a new car but for a mini) but the only thing is they will date fast and are pricey 3 stage paints (especially water based paints).

You could always go for a standard colour. I did that and it looks in my opinion perfect for the car.

Thanks for the input so far. What do you think of Gloss Black for most of the car with Gloss/Matt chequers on the roof?

I know what you mean about Matt Black but if you saw the episode of American Chopper where they did the comanche bike with mixed matt, satin and gloss blacks it looked superb.

Cheers

The age of the car & style of body (Skirt kit, 13" wheels arch's all make a difference when it comes to choice ofcolour !)

Thumb through some mags to give u some inspiration.
But a stab in the dark:
Old English white with a black roof
Tartan red with a black roof
Almond green with a white roof
Island blue with a black roof

My fav has to be the Old English white with a black roof*tongue*

this is where is comes down to personal taste although the colour choice should reflect the style of car to an extent.

Personally, I've gone for metallic grey for the body (range rover colour) and a deep burgandy (chrysler colour) for the roof. All I know is that the painter wasn't too impressed but I'll wait and see what it looks like when it is finished!

That will work really well don't worry. I painted mine Russet brown and the painters wined the whole way through the job until they saw the end product!

Have you seen the new porsche Macadamia colour, awesome :) I think I am going to go for a simple white with black wheels and accents. Kind of what I have now after all.

Awesome mate, well done, put some more pictures on.

My friend who will be painting the car came over yesterday for a look, he is now trying to convince me to do it black, the same as my other car, but I really cant be arsed with the extra prep for a black car. White hides so many sins *smiley*

I think I mentioned I was sort of going for a modern rather than classic feel to the car. What about a modern brown, also mentioned above but shown here. Macadamia from Porsche. My main worry is that is will be out of fashion again by easter and difficult to sell when the time comes.

Mine's Seat Natural Copper (it's a pearlised finish) used on the Cupra in the nineties. You can see it here http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums//index....p=vt&tid=175676
