Hello! Is that JKD gearbox worth of money or is it better to buy swiftune´s "swift shift" box on my street car.

So what do You like med´s dog box gear set? Are Swifty still the better? And which is more suitable first gear 2,1 or 2,3?

MED's gearset is the MBE set, which is also the same as the sequential kit which nobody bought so they converted it to H pattern. The ones I've seen are ok, very simular to swiftune, it's a very positve gear change. On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

I have been talking about the 4 speed dog boxes, I'd love a 5 speed, but I doubt it woudl last a few laps on the track. On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

I run the Mini Spares 5 speed hele box in my road mini It has now covered just under 10,000 miles, It done 7,000 of them under a 100hp 1380 and has done the last 3,000 under a spice 998 about 65 hp apart from a problem with the nose bearing which was my own fault it has performed faultless, It is as strong as a standard 4 speed box if not a little stronger in construction the only slight flaw imo is the want the front of the lay shaft is supported otherwise an all round nice gearbox. a 5 speed box with direct top is only really worth it for motorstort aplications. A more common 5 speeder for the road would be with an overdrive 5th.
