Anyone have an idea what a standard Metro Turbo 1/4 mile time is.

Or a standard ERA

Or a mini with a standard Metro Turbo Engine in

Evidence would be good

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Basically I'm aiming to take the 998 turbo roadcar to York to see what its 1/4 mile time is. I reckon it's on a par with a standard metro turbo and I'm wondering what that might be.

Was thinking that. Messaged Jon about MITP & taking the metro's up & perhaps promote the Championship abit. He reckons approx 17-18secs for 1/4. I think the metro might have better traction off the line, but never done it. Be interesting though. A standard metro turbo must be at least 2-3 seconds slower.

Well my bog standard metro running completely standard boost settings 18.527 @73.39mph in febuary 06 on poo tyres! I reckon you could knock half a secound off that with good tyres ideal conditions and a good driver *tongue*

i must have been doing something wrong at MITP to only get a 15 dead. although the 97 terminal (i.e. on the rev limiter) and the lack of launch control (my right foot) didnt help.

I'm starting to wonder....they are same-ish power...200kgs lighter...but we have lsd. Would the extra weight help in traction etc?

Interesting, my 60bhp standard weight mini (3.1 diff) did an 18 second 1/4, so I'd like to be in the low 17s.

What we need is to put one of the top runners engines in milambers mini and do back to back tests at avon this year! Wont take long to swap them back again!

Well Bens N/A 1040 does 17.5 second 1/4s. It's full weight but 3.7 diff. Although that engine in a light mini did a 16.2 1/4.

fingers crossed i'll be running an LSD this year so should make a massive difference. although saying that i dont expect to be quick on the strip as a mig is very heavy compared to most and i've not got the biggest bunch of bananas

yeah will be quicker than a mig but not on a par with nic/the don/jim etc.

say for arguments sake that a miglia is 130bhp and a milambers metty puts out 130bhp too in my mind the extra torque of the metro engine could go a way to making up for the extra weight.
