Well as the title say's this is the start of the LONDON TO BRIGHTON CHALLENGE 2008!

What that is well!!!!!

The repaint and engine repair of the LITTLE RED DEVIL!



As i have done for the last 2 years i have put myself into getting the car looking well for the L2B, with the hope of getting it in the minimag Just as a small pic will do for me!!!! I always start these things way to late, This year tho i have the grate joy of working in a bodyshop!!!!! which is going to make things alot easyer!!!!

the car is going to be repainted, and a new turbo fitted plus hi-lo's all round!

my last trip to L2B wasn't too good!!



but this year i hope to get there on my own steam!!!!!!! more pic's will follow as the job go's on!!!! this is as far as i have got!!!!!

Good luck fella, in the same boat (trying to turbo the car for the event) also have a habit of leaving it too the last minute, and has been the last 5 runs lol!

just a quick up date the silver union jake has gone and left me with a cool red one in its place !!!!! so the roof is only going to need a quick topcoat and thats done wow!!!!! (pic's to follow)

Well got the turbo into the shop today! started to flat the roof down and as per- things didn't go to plan,



as the gray paint was made up from something i put together in the old job i knew getting a mach for it was going to be hard but, my mate andy who has the best eye in the painting world made the mix up to mach bang-on!!! so i set to and masked the corner off ready for base coat!





then we put the paint on!



after that nice coat of top coat, things are looking looking good!





All i need to do is one more go at top coat and she'll be bang on! then the body can get painted!

one again up-date time-------- the roof now has had 4 top coats! looking good!!!!

got a door skin for the driver door and my boss john has told me he will do agood job of fitting it. its now time to start the strip down ready for the body to be painted!!!!! (pic's to follow)

looking good, not too keen on the union jacks on the roof, but if your gonna do you may as well get it shining properly which you seem to have acheived.

thanks dan! key to a good roof is a good shine i always say!!!! when the rest or the car shines like that i'll be a happy guy!

what size wheels have you got in the first pics? i've just got some 13x6 5 spoke revolutions with avon tyres (look like cut slicks) but they are massive tyres 2x195 and 2x185,

what tyres do you run? was looking to get 175/50 13 but i'm scared they'l rub on the coilovers and i dont wanna run spacers

Thank you tom!!! the rest of the car's paint work is starting to show a bit of age also last time i painted it in my dads garage! it always looks better in the photo's but it is nice to hear you say it looks good!!!!

Ahh well, you still have 5 weeks:)

things are still running slow as we are bussy in the body shop, got the bonnet flated down today but still a lot to do! !

not sure if to do the car nightfire red as it is at the mo or a new red off a RX8 so what do we think!!!!

as you can see i have found more than a little rust on the car!!! so it is time to start cutting out and plating back in!!!! also i have a new door bottom to fit befor the new skin go's on!!!

some panels have been long blocked too!!!

Is the shell original? I can't remember now. Oh and I vote keep it the same colour.:)

the shell is original yes this is the most its ever had not bad for a 86 car i think!!!! it is stayintg the same colour with a twist!!!!!
