Hi all

Ive finally remembered my password (thanks to the girlfriend!!) and can now finally get posting and thought id say hi and get to know some people on here to help me get the car to where and how i want it. Finding a forum thats main focus is forced induction is perfect for me and look forward to all the help and advice i need from people that know!!
So.
Just a bit about the car
post about my mini that ive given a complete make over on!! Its been off the road since April when the rad blew a hole and been in the posession of Slark and the body shop since July 5th and now he is back!!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v137/johnnyst1/bertie.jpg
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v137/johnnyst1/

So its had a carbon fibre roof, boot, doors, flip front parcel shelf, bumpers and wing mirrors along with plastic windows all round and then a bare metal re-spray in Vauxhall VXR Arden blue.

Right, engine stuff. Well i already had a massive spec engine built in Jan by MED which cost me just short of 5k and wasnt sure which route to take next. Med were looking to trial a new 8 port, there was the KAD 16v or the super charger. I decided to go down the super charger route and placed an order for the weber kit Stuart does at Vmax. A couple of weeks later it all arrived at Slark for them to fit and tune.

Then it was off to the body shop to get all the panels and things fitted to include fabricating the bulge for the weber to sit and remove the fuel tank neck from the outside of the car and weld it onto the tank inside the boot aswell as fitting the roof and making the grille fit on the front!!! No easy task!!

Although it took a very long time to seem to get it all done, it is worth every penny!!

It did 150BHP on VMAX RR. Am off to AFracing shortly to get a megajolt/squirt kit fitted and reduced size pulley. Its only doing 12miles to the gallon at the mo on Shell vpower, makes a trip out in the car very expensive!!

I would like to know how much it weighs now. Before all the work it weighed in at 660KG. It still needs a few more things to get it 'there'. Next up is going to be a set of LSD's and some equal length drive shafts and brakes that stop the car!

im sorry if the above seems a bit rushed but please feel free to post up any questions (if you have any) and i will try and answer them as best i can. Also, i dont have access to a computer so got a spare half hour to put this together. Had to send the pics from my mobile to my email address to get them on here!!!!

Anyway. Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings and hope you like the car!!

Johnny

Sounds like you've got most of the work done, just need to sort the fueling and enjoy.

I did, many moons ago, have an imported STi. My login name on scoobynet was johnnysti and as im so bad at remembering things, ive kept it on every other forum ive joined. Also, after using it as my login name, people have pointed out that its an abbreviation for 'sexually transmitted disease'!!! I was young when i was on scooby net!!! lol Thats my excuse!

Hiya Paul. Its at the body shop now getting the final bits done. Looks like 'wolfie' has sorted me a fan to get the hot running sorted. Slark are going to move the oil filter housing to give me the space to put in on the rad. The body shop is doing the final bits of paint and fitting a new dash with a centre speedo thing and then its off to Alex Flower to get some megajolt or mega squirt thing fitted to get it all running spot on, giving me space again behind the rad and fitting the reduced pulley!!!! Then, hopefully when its all sorted, get mini mag down to do the feature. All good, and yet even more money to be spent!!! lol
