I am happy (extatic) because today at work I finally managed to get mi hands on a 1.2 16V head off a Clio 2.

That is the head, inlet, exhaust, ECU (Nat Asp but who knows, there are blown versions of it I might re-flash it to), injection, harness, I even got the air filter (have to get rid of that thing ...)

Anyway, pics on their way as I still have to take those out (look cool while carrying a head, would you ?) to my place.

Second good thing is that it apparently doesn't need pistons cutouts and that those are of the flat version.

I'll keep you in touch.

PS : bore spacing almost the same as an A-series
exhaust is gonna have to be in the front
I should nick the radiator while I'm at it ...

im in anticipation about weather the heads off the fast version the 1.4 are both the same spacing ect.

because basically those heads will flow 400+ bhp with the head ground out for low compression.

i was thinking about getting a bmw head but the fiat one flows better.

what i like about the first post is "finally" in the first line.

please explain the fiat one flows better with facts and figures - the bmw flows 150 cfm as std at 9.5mm of lift on the inlet - Fiat figures please this is a technical forum not a keyboard warrior one!

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

indeed. the turbo punto head flows 165 cfm in standard forum. and can produce 400bhp. ive seen the top spec bmw turbo k1100/1200 at about 300bhp.

however i guess they would be more balanced the punto turbos have massive amounts of lag. 50bhp at 4500 and around 370 at 7500.

as ive seen it done now i just need to get one of these heads onto my bench and have a look at porting one to see how well it goes.

I'm damn sure the punto turbo head wont fit, as I'm posotive the 1.4 engine is about an 80mm bore.

if i see a gsxr 750 head gasket pop up on the bay or e, its mine. however like the bmw head it might have to be run backwards.

Clio head was the beginnning, yes ...
And as far as bore spacing, it fits (still got to figure the oil and water passages thought)

I dunno about liquid cooled GSXR's but oil coled definitely have the cam chain between cylinders 2 and 3

Pictures to make you all wait :

The turbo : (Renault 5, seized, have to change the bearings)

http://www.turbominis.co.uk/photo/507/

The intercooler : (off a diesel megane, all alloy, needs to be reverted)

http://www.turbominis.co.uk/photo/505/

The cranck sensor & guest : (off a racing diesel megane we run at work, new renault 2 liter engine means open bar for 1.9 old parts)

http://www.turbominis.co.uk/photo/506/

I have been lucky enough to get all those for free (even have a spare IC)

Edit :
Sorry, dunno how to make the "[IMG]" stuff work !!!
I followed http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=7932 to the letter (must have misread somehow ...)

I feel I can have trouble with a 1275 as bore is only 70mm and there is not much to remove before the silicon lines

What do you think ?

Small valver, ain't it ?
