So after the rolling road i went out last night, nice and cool evening so lots of horses, put it on higher boost, and nearly ended up in a bush! the torque steer was quite frightening (but also loads of fun)

My question to you is, is that fairly normal? My friend stu wright said yes and he built it, he said he had it in his to.......

???????

What front suspension do you have? Go solid everything if you want to eliminate

With the off-set you have on the wheels and the power yes.

Do you run an LSD?

front camberµ/castor will help to adress your trouble, but defo ofsetted wheels and std diff will have to be adressed if you want to stay on the same road you want to

everything is solid, hi lo's gas shocks, quaife lsd, solid mount front subfram, rose jointed bottom arms, heavy duty tie bars, 6 1/2 inch mb's with 3inch inners 3.5 outers, soft rubber a038r, it was 180 bhp on a warm day......i'm thinking its normal.....might adjust my castor a bit, shorten the tie bars?

Not so much off-set then, a lot less than I run. But I run on tracks only and have no problems. But if I take it round the block it's hard work as the camber of the road really upsets it.

leeds/wakefield.

i meant 26mm neg.
Mb centres have the hub mounting face 14mm in from the centreline of where the two rims sit together,

so if we take two 3" rims we will have 14mm neg to start with, ad 12.7mm for the extra 1/2" outer making the total of circa 26mm, sorry i'm wrong its add half the 12.7 mm add to the 14mm , so about 20mm neg.

i still get confused between neg and poss offset,

ah i see carl , maybe i have evolved my own wierd way to work it out ,,

i go ,

total width 6.5 ,,,so mid point 3.25
so if its 3.5 outside than thats 3.25 minus 3.5 equals -.25 (or-6mm roughly ) .

which qwould prob be correct if the ppint where the rims meet was on the same plain as the wheel mount face. but its not as its offset by 14mm,lol

a LIL fishing village on the coast - Newcastle Upon Tyne

so i take it the way forward (as apposed to sideways) is to go solid mounted engine and solid mounted subby, what about the donuts do we change them for the new spring type affair ? i have gas shox so will be winding them right up, my other thoughts were something along the lines of a clamp weight on the shorter drive shaft this has merely been a fleeting thought is it the weight diference in the shafts that causes one wheel to spin up faster than tuther, or is it length (try to resist the puns lads) what iam getting at is two shafts of equal weight but diff length would still give torque steer ?

i have found theres 2 different things ,one , is torque steer of the line or up to say 50 mph ,where the thing darts from side to side like a landed fish (carp)
and the other thing is , where your doing 90 odd ,and want to overtake something ,and give it .000003 degree sterering input ,and it dashes for the other kerb ,then you corect .0000001 degree steeering and nearly bounce off the side of the car your overtaking !!

on 10 psi on the actuator its fine, its only when i bump it up to 18 and give it the heavy right foot, then the "carp darting around" comes into play!!! I think like all you guys have said its a cross between the front end not quite being set up properly and the power? Would you suggest solid mounting the engine even though its used on the road and has 4 rose jointed engine steadys?
