Well, new minis weigh about 1200KG, with 210HP thats 175HP per ton. A proper mini weighs about 650KG so woud need 113.75HP. That all assumes that thier drag coeffiecients, transmissional losses, final drive ratios and grip levels (and probably loads of other stuff that I can't think of off hand) are equal. And that only considers going in a straight line. On 12th Nov, 2009 Paul S said:

My mini has around 109 at the wheels, say 130 at the flywheel, my MINI has 175 at the flywheel and is a second or more quicker to 60.. ( though feels a second slower!!) I guess its down to the low down torque band. gearing and the ability to put the power on the ground.. terry website:- http://www.terryhunt.co.uk

You just disagreed and agreed with me in the same post

I was that far ahead in the corners the straights didnt seem to make much of a difference, but as the lads say its all about getting power to the ground... Markie And thats why it's the best clubby on Irish roads 8-) On 12th Nov, 2009 Paul S said:

Be a man and put £200 beating him up your local hillclimb. He will probably nail you in a straight line but you'd nail him on the twisties. Binis have longer legs to run with.
Bugger off, I'm getting there. |
