always fancied doing a twin engined VAG 1.8 20vt mini. You can easily see 400 bhp per engine, space frame with carbon body. Fun or mad? ...... "Cars are a lifetime of pain" |

the gtir convertion has been done already too. you would get better results from a hayabusa conversion and the mini would not look shite afterwards

thats a 200sx engine no its an RB26DETT (well they both are) .. top one was just before i stuck it in a skyline, bottom one was just after i pulled it out another. these engiens were never fitted to 200sx's from the factory, and to the best of my knowlege there is only a handfull(if that) in the uk with this lump swapped in. first pic shows it next to a gti-r(SR20DET engine as standard) for a size reference :) turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

On the four wheel drive theme I think BMC produced 3 4wd set-ups for the a-series, anyone know where these are hiding these days I would love a look.

why not do a rear mounted A-series turbo? just so i know how hard it'l be.... i just cant figure out the gear selector... Have a look at GTMs or any other kit car with a rear mounted A series. It is very easy to do. You can still buy the GTM linkage new if you look in the right places. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

Here is what they look like. The bracket mounts onto the front of the gearbox, and the gear knob end is rubber mounted. The only mod on the mini selector is the bottom plate need turning around, so that the you can "gate" the reverse.

its not so much that but the fack that to have 5 gears forward you obviously need to have the engine and box mounted the same way as it is in the front so the selector on the box is now facing the back of the car and the linkage needs to loop under the box to connect to it.
