Force Racing ICT Dept Manager Miglia Turbo Am frum Yokshyer tha noes!

How many folks have put the MJLJ together themselves and how hard was it. And more to the point who screwed up??

Im contemplating buying the Kit and getting it a tad cheaper.

Cheers

Mike

I have made a few of them. Its easy. If you have ever soldered wires together successfully before you will manage this!

I have assembled plenty of megasquirts. It is very easy, but if you haven't soldered PCBs before it could be a bit of a learning curve.

As per Ben, built my own Megasquirt.

It hasn't run in anger yet but it's passed all the tests on the PC and stimulator.

The only fiddly bit was the small transistors, leads very close together - if you haven't done PCBs before they would have been a bit of a challenge.

Megajolt may not even have them, it must certainly have less parts than Megasquirt....

For any PCB work you do need a good soldering iron, lots of practice if you've never done it before, and a decent "solder sucker" for if you do get it wrong.....

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

Ive done abit of solering work, but nothing on a miniscule scale. The pics on MJ site look like there are some very small parts.

Ive got access to plenty of very soldering irons as i work at a school.

If you are scared of building it send it to me, Ive built a squirt which i ran on a supercharged mini, im just about to receive 3 jolts to build from kits. The plus side is, its what I do all day everyday so i have all the gear at work :) (Test Engineer)

I dont want ya money, just to help as Im sure you all will when I get round to building my engines up and asking silly questions!!!

Not worth it IMO as you won't get any kind of warranty or support (typically).

Just a sidenote, V4 looks infinately harder to solder than V3. I put a V3 together myself with very little experience soldering before. It was fairly handy. I had a look at V4 over in Pauls place a few weeks ago and I couldn't even see where you are supposed to solder *oh well* It looks like a totally different kettle of fish

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

When MegaJolt started there were no kits.

I have the hardcut limiter, bought it from autosport readybuilt and tested! hardly worth the bother for the exta cost! It was really easy to fit to the 3.2 aswell!
