How about the sensor brackets? I'm in need of one of those, but I dont think Tom is doing a run of their custom brackets in the near future? |

No, not the sensor brackets (although those will be required as well) more the standard cast bottom pulley machined with the 36-1 pattern :) |

Yea im just after the pulley as all the sensor brackets i have seen rub on the fan belt, so im going to build my own.

RIGHT, as promised I've spoken to Phil (who does the machining) and he has time to do machined pulleys, but not the brackets at the moment.

The advantage of the Med kit is that the toothed wheel is directly bolted to the crank as opposed to the machined cast pulleys which have the toothed wheel connected to the crank through rubber.

Jean That was why I tried to come up with a way of mounting a ring type trigger wheel onto the pressed plate that is attached to the hub on the back of later pulleys (the pressed plate with two notches, something to do with factory timing setup) but I couldn't get it to fit.... so I ended up with it just attached to the back of the pulley instead of the front..... still through the rubber. How much difference to the timing is made by the rubber insert is.... debatable..... ??? Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |

would i need a damper pully to send to you tom for the machining? as i dont have one

I don't know if anyone has ever measured it (not sure how they would) but the absolute error is probably not very big. What I'd be more worried about is the jitter and what effect it could have on speed computations and the resulting errors on timing and fueling. Also, what would happen in case of rubber failure (even partial) which is much more possible with rubber than steel, especially with an old pulley.
