and some more boost apparently it was only running 4psi

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

As miniminor63 said, an intercooler would be the first mod. Then fit a bleed valve in the actuator line to allow you to increase boost. It's probably worth finding out what CR you a running before you increase boost though

With the straight cut box and an intercooler you could run a decent amount of boost through it!

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

a friendly RR would be my first start before tweaking too much. 8-9psi on a standard engine in good condition is more than achievable

what's cr
It comes with an intercooler
What does an actuator do
Also how do you go about increasing the psi

Just to get you started....

CR is compression ratio, you really need to know what it is (ie, is it standard Metro) before you do too much.
No intercooler fitted in the photo, do you mean it came with one that you can fit later?
The actuator opens the wastegate on the turbo thus controlling boost.
To increase boost, several ways - most obvious/common are a higher rated actuator or a bleed valve (fools the existing actuator into thinking the pressure is lower than it really is)

BUT, as said above - have a search, there is loads of info on the forum.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

If your running at standard compression ratio when on boost (say 4psi) your dynamic compression ratio will be around 14:1 may be a little higher say 14.5:1.

If you increase your boost without lowering your compression ratio and you are useing a standard head gasket to say 10psi you could have a dynamic copmpression ratio of well over 16:1, this is where you start blowing head gaskets.

Just a snip of information to show you just how much extra attention you have to pay to the fine details. These are just ball park figures but pretty close

For around £13,000 about 270 break with a 16v head lol. then put a 50 shot nitrous kit on the back with a progession controler and give me a call before you take it out that I would love to see.

You can spend silly amounts of money. Have a read and alook at whats in here and you will build a spec list and change it as many times as it has parts but you will save your self a lot of time and a lot more money.

The flavour of the time is to use cimetic or get a copper head gasket made. the 1/8 cimetic gives you an additional 12 or so cc a good way of reducing your cr but cost £140.

trust me press the search button type in what you want to know and you will more than likely get an answer. i was as green as a five day old cabbage when i came to this forum. i'm still green but not half as bad.

whats a cimetic?

The prefered head gasket is the Bk450, but the AF460 is also a good gasket. Do you need to get the CR down? carve some out of the head. A thick head gasket is a lesser solution.
