I believe there is a shortage of these bearings, Some one said that there will be new stock around decemeber, but if you can find some one who has one, buy it, dont hang around.

Ebay is probibly a good bet for New Old Stock

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

You have no idea how long I have looking for a double roller! Mine came out in bits, minispares were asking £50 in the begining but when I ordered one they said they were out of stock. I contacted hythe performance as they were selling them for £25, but when I went to order they said that it would cost £75 and finally minisport say they are negotiating with a supplier (thats been 2 weeks of negotiating now). Minispeed say they are the only place in the world that has them, I haven't contacted them yet though. I need to get the gearbox together sharpish too!

Looks like we will have to sit it out until they become available. I think the prob is the ones that they have been selling are rover sourced, they now have to go get someone to make them. Be prepared to pay a lot when they become available again!

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

What the problem is here a guys

minispares commissions 2500 of them but on negotiation with SKF they said we will supply you 2500 but... we reserve the right to make an extra say .. 500 and we will sell them to who we think at our price

This has happened to minispares before say a figure of £20 per bearing to minisapares and then SKF turns the other 500 out for £15 to other speed shop companies

this pissed Keith Dodd off at minispares so he told them to stuff it.

in short that is what its about.

expect them to be expensive for any you find now and in the future *frown*

i hope minispares sort this out
*surprised*

Someone on here must have the details on the bearing? An independant supplier would be your best bet like bearing trader or similar.

I purchased a new-unused bearing a few weeks ago when I first heard of the 'drying up' of parts... It is far from a good state of affairs.

Sorry - but I'm keeping mine in case this all turns to crap - or the new bearing quality is dubious (as can happen).

Unfortunatley i can't give an exact figure but we will have enough to supply demand without any problems. They won't be £70 either lol.

I was also about to order one (although I have two good used ones) so I've done a bit of phoning...

Moss Europe are also out of stock but have estimated delivery dates of late October and mid November. Their price is £33.95 (+ VAT) compared to MiniSpares currently showing £48 (+ VAT) and Moss are having a VAT free offer for orders over £99.

They said if I ordered now they would just send it once it's back in stock.

Tempting to dream up £99 of bits I don't yet need.....

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

West Sussex - dreaming of forced induction!

Why dont you try 'guessworks' on 'the mini forum', i would think he would have a few of these on the shelf as he builds mini gearboxes

Get me some info off of the bearing cages and I can get them over the counter.

So long as you can direct them to the correct box and they have it they will sell it.

If you have the bits you have the numbers get looking and ill pop next door and ask.
