As some of you may know, I'm currently building a 1460 16v turbo motor up using the BMW K head and need to know who the best modifier around is to sort it out. I don't mind spending good money but I don't like spend good money and getting bugger all in return. I'm really looking for it to be as fully speced up as possible.

DON'T go to morspeed then! , I had mine done by them and I ended up redrilling and tapping the threads as they looked like they were done by a 5 year old and the it pissed oil out as it hadn't been milled flat either...after 2 hours of scraping the face in it was sorted!
Specialist components are your best bet for professional machining work on the K heads.

Lol Ok, ok I put my hands up. I got my kit from Simon but I really dont want to get in a debate over that. What I recieved from him I am very happy with and if anybody has had issues with him then its not my buisness. Though am I mistaken for thinking he built the engine that is currently one of the quickest hill climb cars out there?

So how long has JonK been working on these heads then and whats the most powerful he's had running? Thats the question we're all asking...he's keeping us in suspence with his new build!
John's done his research, even sectioned a head for research purposes. Do a search on here for his pojects and im sure you'll know where to go for head work!

Whether these rhumours are true or not, it would appear the owe money or engines to a fair few people. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:

i havent a clue what you need to get done one of these heads but im sure you could take it to any good machine shop and if you can tell them what you want done then they could do it.
no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Rhumours are rhumours and good for nothing in my opinion. I think he's all above bord. I offered him cash for my conversion but hewasnt fussed and was more than happy for it to go through his books. ANYBLOODYWAY!!!!! Clutch wise ill be running a twin plate set up. I personally think the double grey is old hat now and its time for just as much development in the clutch department as there is in ecu and head design. What do u mean by OP Carl? the op is you, origional poster. where are yupo based, carl |
