Right this is where I really show my ignorance! My new place has no phone line, and I grudge paying for line rental etc when I never use a land line for calls as I have free minutes on my mobile and use of a company phone. Is it possible to access the net via other means? Sorry but I know 0 about this sort of thing.

you could try mobile internet its available from most mobile network providers at varying prices average iive seen is between £10 to £15. Ive used my brothers a few times and it seems to work okay it really depends on mobile signal strength in your area as to whether its worth it, as it can be quite slow with a poor signal.

get cable, a 3g modem and contract for the computer, or a suitable 3g mobile phone and teather it . all the 3g stuff wil give you some net access but alot of providers don tlike teathering, and ping times etc will be slow, and this is all assuming you can get 3g! turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

Or just jump on someones wireless connection. Brother-in-law does it all the time at my mum & dads

I have heard about mobile internet, but have heard mixed reviews on it, most of them poor, paiying £15 quid a month at the moment for a shite service, would at least like to improve. I dont really use the net for much other than TM ebay, and the odd google mission. Shane |

LMAO Nic! I dont want to know the sort of sites your into! I think my current broard band provider offers a package of broadband and home phone for less than what im paying, tempting but unsure how much Im gonna get fleeced for line rental.

get a phoneline or cable its cheaper and better than 3g, 3g will get as good but its not there yet i would not use it as my main connection Crystal Sound Audio said:

Sign up for a 3g account, im with vodaphone, managed to barter them down to £7.50 a month for 3gig limit.

Virgin are pretty good, no phone line needed if you're in a cable area. I've got 2 wireless routers if you need one too lol. |

yes a mate of mine has the 3 dongle thing and he says it's get, as he is in a bad area for cable bb, he just plug that in and it's quite fast he said. Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

It was only a matter of time before Nic and a virgin comment came along. Got a lettwer from talk talk through the door today, works out at £18 pcm not much more than what im paying at moment, but might have to pay a reconnection fee as have no phone line?

i have switched from 24mb adsl to 7.2 turbo 3g, works a treat! Downloading is almost as fast as before (pirate bay). Give your supplier a ring first and see how fast line you will get…i pay £10 month unlimited access
