i know its not a-series , but i know you guys like a good turbo mini so thought i would post some pics of my project.

my 8 year old helping to get the vauxhall 2litre 8v engine in.
I have picked up some LET pistons from the 16v turbo engines , so will slap these in to lower the CR.

Engine in , and IC placed at front , will mod the slam panel and this will allow the IC to move backwards some more.

After a few minutes of playing this seemed the most sensible place for the turbo to go :

I have some laser cut flanges ( a little thin but will do for now )
The turbo is some cheap one , that you guys will cringe at i guess lol.

Will be collecting some weldable elbows and T peices today to make up a basic Log type manifold.

I will also be running on a Megasquirt when i get that far.

will keep you guys posted.

yea , thats a T3 turbo ...

they do , but wont effect things (well in my small brain they wont) .. if anything it will just be a little lower CR than in the LET

vauxhall boys have used LET pistons in the 8v with no problems

Hi chap. Nice work so far. As well as doing a turbo mini I'm also doing a vauxhall 2.0 16v conversion for my clubman. The think the LET pistons will be sound as long as you don't use a high lift cam. What subframe are ya using, or have ya fabricated ya own up?

ok , only got an hour tonight :

welded the two T peices together ,once i ground them a bit to match the ports :

Then ground down the other side of the T to allow for one of the elbows to line up with the port :

i kept seam welding each peice , so when i was finished i knew it was not going to move all over the place :

i have now tacked it to the flange , and tonight i will weld the T3 flange on , then the turbo should bolt up under its own weight...

i could not be arse to grind down all the welds .. as i thought this should be as strong as it can be .... does not need to be pretty ...
