I'm interested to know the weight of your mini with a full tank of fuel and no driver, I'm tyring to work out how heavy / light mine is. On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

I think around 550Kg. (proably a bit more)

bet mines lighter! mind you, it doesnt have an engine, subframes, interior etc, so i gues it probably doesnt count!!!!! lol!! And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers! |

Mine is 735 kg, a bit of a heavyweight! and will weigh even more when the turbolump is in... weight reduction required! |

last way mine was getting close to 800 KGs :( and that was with out me in it!

should be interesting at "just over 500 " , when the rest of us with stripped out carbon fibred , fuck all in cars are at 560/570 kg .

It's certinally possible. I could still lose some weight off mine. I could save 2-3 kgs per wheel by changing to propper racing ones. I still have steel rear drums and really heavy radius arms too.

mine is 565 kgs, with around 4 gallons of fuel. I can't see how I could make mine much lighter, although I do have a lot of cage in mine, it's all thin wall t45, I have ally radius arms, and kad rear disks and ally calipers. Ally calipers at the front, and carbon door, front end, bonnet, boot lid, boot floor, dash etc. My wheel are force split rims, which are only a few grams heavier than mb's. There are some things on my car which need to stay, as my car will have an MOT on it soon, and not from a mate in the pub.

many moons ago i remember reading about a hillclimb car in miniworld that had metal gound off the block to lighten it

Im going for circa 600kgs, thats with the minimal amount of cage and everything carbon as per jims really. reckon i can get mine down a bit under jims to start with |
