Time has come to look into selling my project.

Everything you see listed below (other than the shell, windows and front subframe) are brand spanking new, never used once.

I will not consider breaking this at all it must go as a whole.

1981 Shell on an old W plate, taken back to bare metal, all holes and rust removed, new parts welded, full respray and undesealed.

6 point bolted roll cage with 3mm steel welded plates at each of the 6 points.

Standard front subframe, blasted back and handpainted in hammerite, fixed with solid mounts and solid engine mount.

Ultimate engine steady and 2 x ultimate gearbox steadies.

Rear beam axle.

All round Spax fully adjustable coilovers.

4 pot minisport calipers and vented and grooved discs & Kunifer for all break lines

Engine (kit still not completly put together but all there):
Morspeed 1380 block
Dished pistons (not forged)
Lightened Conrods
Wedged, bladed & lightened crank
274 Cam
Uprated oil pump
Morspeed Booster 4 head
1.3 roller tip rockers
Duplex timing
Benross Manifolds and Elbow
New T3 turbo with 360 thust
Full straight cut box built by turbo hogster inc timken idler and x-pin diff
copetition 2 core rad
All silicone hosing
Complete MegaJolt setup in Fenton sensor bracket
All APR Studs
No clutch.

7x13 Deepdish Ultralights wrapped in Yoko A008's

Fiberglass flipfront with painted carbon bonnet & halogen headlamps.

Curly carbon wide arches.

KAD v2 quick shift

Full stainless exhaust system with bike can, inc turbo downpipe.

ATL Racing fuel cell (shown with old pump for non turbo engine)

Black leather cobra clubman buckets and 4 point harnesses.

I'm sure I have missed loads off the list! I dont think I would be to unreasonable to ask for £5000 but open to your comments, the engine and gearbox are 3k on their own new (and thats basically what your getting)

Photo time (pictures say a 1000 words so what do 1000 picture say):

In all honesty it would fly out in bits, peeps have 200- 500 quid in there pocket to spend on cage/ coilovers etc

I do think 5k is steep as there was a full road worthy one for sale on here last month and he was struggling to get 3k for it, similar spec to yours.

I do wish you good luck with the sale and hope all goes well.

fair play then, i honestly didnt know how to value it, obviously loads more than 5k spent on it so just went with that figure, difficult market out there so lets say i've said 5k but open to sensible offers to see what people think its worth.

As for breaking it, I'm still going to have to say no for the time being, I would like to see it all go as a whole.

I'm no expert, but as long as I've got my angle grinder and big hammer, I'm sure I'll manage to work it out.

You asked for comments so here goes......

Whilst I don't doubt your statement that there are over £5k's worth of parts and labour there, I suggest you say why you are wanting to sell before completion and why you don't want to split.

Explanations help a lot.

Unfortunatly its the old cash flow crisis story, was made redundant in Dec last year, new job I had to take an 8k pay cut, baby has arrived and taking up more and more time, and my other car is sitting stationary on the drive awaiting around £1000 worth of engine repairs after the bottom end went.

As for not breaking, I have put so much time into it I dont think I could bear to split it with the good chance of bits being left over, that will either remind me of it or cause me to start spending all over again on it with cash and time i dont have anymore.

Sorry to hear that. good luck with the sale. Can you not just stash it away and come back to it later on. or sell odd bits that can be easily replaced like the wheels?

As usual in these cases it is much better to split. Yes it is effort, but if you are desperate for the cash then I bet you will clear 50% of it very quickly. I bet the higher value parts will go too. The problem you will have (I would bet) is the shell.

If you want more money, quicker then it is the only way. Good luck though.

I would split it TBH mate...besides its already in pieces and the parts you have would shift in no time! *wink*

As for myself I would be interested in.

1.3 Roller Tip Rockers
2 Core Radiator
All Silicone Hoses
Heater & Any Pipework

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

If you do start offering the parts up for sale.

I'd be interested in the gearbox and drop's.

Woah!!

I know its alot of hard work that would require undoing again, but its nuts how a pretty sorted car would be hard to get rid of, probably for alot less than you'd want. But would sell in parts ultra fast for the cash you want due to people chomping at the bit to get parts off you!

Might not seem like a great idea and would be a pain to have to do, but it'd be a shame to let it go for alot less than you'd like.

I think most of the parts have already been called 1st dibs on! lol

I think its only the shell, seats and front subby left? *hehe!*

The only way to get your money back is to either finish the build and sell complete or break it up...as sad as it is to have to do that? *oh well*

Has the shell had a bulkhead box fitted - not clear from the photos and your build thread says T2/mirage to avoid bulkhead box but the For Sale has a T3...

I've been thinking long and hard and taking minimole23's comments about trying to sit on it for a bit longer, the enthusiastic posting towards breaking it reminds me of how much effort i've put in to get all the right bits and perhaps its worth getting out of this current rut another way.

Tonight I have put my other car up for sale (the one with the dead bottom end), if that sells the mini might well be staying.
