Yep, HIC were pretty cheap - less than the last time I had one of these little beasties on the road anyhow.

£240 FC.

The more custom a company can pass the way of the underwriter the better rates the underwriter will give that company.

For example if you ride a 600cc motor cycle your insurance policy will be with Norwich union and the best quote will be given by choice quotes. 800cc Footman James and so on and so on.

i have a car insured with both (one each) and they hate that *happy*
flux are crap when it comes to cancelling the policy and often try charge a cancellation fee that is higher than the remaining value of the policy, hic i have never had a problem with and are spot on *wink* and cheapest by fare on modified to mini's

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

The only problem with HIC is they dont honour their own agreed valueations in a write off case

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

I have had issues with HIC in the past, but you get what you pay for I guess.

Yep, I totally agree with that, Ben. I have no idea why people go for the cheapest policy in all instances. You really do get what you pay for.

However, I just want my car on the road, and even if I did smash it up, I'd rather keep my NCB than get a few quid back, so, cheap will do.

Mine is only ever on the road for 6 months of the year so the cheaper the better. And like Alex Its the no claims I am after. Used the no claims I had built up on my mini to insure my golf then took a new policy out on the mini.

You think I'm going to get e fresh policy for my BMW! Hell no I'll just move the no claims around get max discount and start the mini on a frsh one again.

I have Minis insured with Flux and HIC. I also insure my motorhome with Flux.

Although Flux and HIC are effectively owned by the same people, they are like chalk and cheese.

Flux are basically inept and continually cock up. They claim one day that they have not recieved stuff, then next day confirm in wrting that they have. I recently arranged european cover for the motorhome with them. I had to ring to ask them to confirm the cover as they had forgotten to send out confirmation. Just simple things that they cannot get right.

No problems with HIC.

I was insured with flux when i had the mini as a daily driver, when i got a new car last summer i rang them up and got them to change the car on the policy which they did but they didn't change the direct debit payments and since december they've been charging 4 times the amount they should be *angry*

oh and when i try to tax mine online apparently i have no insurance *oh well*

All are fine when they want your cash.. but its a different story when you make a claim.
