Can someone give me a step by step guide in how to run the car without an ecu or is there anybody who disagrees with doing this?

Are we talking the Metro ECU? It modules the boost, its really rather crude and its quite safe to remove it and the boost solenoid, and then either by adjusting the actuator or using a bleed valve run 7psi throughout the rev range.

Yes..

Step 1

Throw ecu in bin

Step 2

Plumb compressor directly to actuator

Step 3....fit a bleed valve here, at your own risk of course.

I'd say 99% of the people on this forum do, nobody uses the ECU really. As said just scrap it.

I'm insinuating that pretty much nobody on here uses them, so pretty much any picture of a mini turbo that you see won't have one in it....

once you have removed the metro ecu, (simply in plug it and throw it away) you will need to plug the rubbber hose which the ecu was using to detect boost pressure.

With the ECU removed you will only get around half of the previous boost level, this was becuase the ECU kept peak torque down by modualting the boost. To give your self more boost you can either give the solonied valve 12v igntiion live feed or put some more preload on the actuator.

Is this engine still in metro, or are you / have you put it in a mini?

As said above, remove it and in its place fit a bleed valve (fit hose on centre nipple). Wind it in fully, this should give ou a fixed 4psi of boost, slowly wind it out (8th of a turn at a time) untill you reach 7psi of boost on your gauge. *wink*

Im being deadly serious...

You really need to research this properly, and asking what come across as extremely stupid/ beyond-newbie questions means researching on the internet is not the place to do it.

And I seriously hope whoever is building and tuning your engine does know what he is doing, otherwise your pocket will find out "what there is to worry about".

If you really want to learn, buy some decent books on the subject.

Corky Bell - Maximum Boost ( altho I dont much like it, but its ok )
Julian Edgar ( 21st Century Performance )

And s superb book for a Mini.. David Vizard - Tuning the A-series...the big yellow book. Although most of that will be well beyond you. But a superb book
