Anyone else on here fanatical about this race as me.

I've been following this for a good 20 years or so, but this year has to be one of the best yet.

Great television, spectacular racing and a couple of Brits doing very well. Manxman Mark Cavendish has now won four stages and Bradley Wiggins is in 5th place in the general clasification.

If you haven't watched it then have a look at ITV4 7-8pm most days. Take a bit of getting used to what's going on but compeling viewing in my opinion.

No drugs so far this year, so they finally seem to be cleaning up their act.

I'm catching the ferry on Sunday with the plan to catch up with the race somewhere between the Alps and the Mediteranean. We might try to get on Le Mont Ventoux to catch the penultimate stage, but there may be another million people all trying to do the same thing.

Seen a bit, Cavendish is doing well, motivating me to get my road bike sorted.

Strangely this is the first year in many that I haven't followed it at all. Speaking to a few that have it does seem I've missed a good one.

Enjoy your trip, good luck catching all the goodies they chuck at you.

I don't follow it but one year on holiday in France we saw the riders come past and as wil says they threw a lot I'd free stuff before.

just like one of the norwegian main newspapers wrote today, the only way for hushovd to beat Cav is to either knock him of the road, or to shoot him down *happy*

I say GO Hushovd aswell though! Much more sympatic guy than Cav which is a TINY little bit Cocky!

I didn't realise that this thread would wake the Vikings *happy*

Today's stage will suit Hushovd as it is not so flat. He has the chance to be back in Green tonight.

Matt, I missed it for a year or so when C4 stopped covering it, but then Sturgeo bought a freeview box and it was back.

The thing is, that yesterday's stage should suit him as well. It seems as it suited Cavendish more. lol

Yes, Veg very funny.

Hushovd did very well today but Cav will be back in Green tomorrow night.

We could well have to wait till the finish on the Champs Elysees before the Green Jersey competition is decided!

I'll have to find a campsite with a Bar and a TV to see the final stage.

Yeah lad at work has got some on his bike, says that they are a nice ride.

Must say that this is one of the best races i have seen in the last few years. Most definitely the worlds greatest race...

So who rides a road bike then??

Ive just bought a cheapo road bike, as my mountain bike is quite worn after 3000miles, and was cheaper to buy a new bike than replace the chainset etc.. *hehe!*

Amazing how much difference there is even with a bottom of the range road bike compared to a top end range mountain bike.

Ive stopped riding for a few weeks now as I was loosing to much weight, and can't seem to eat enough too sustain any kind of weight. *oh well*

What a cracking race this year!

I'm sat on the slopes of Mont Ventoux after watching the tour go past. Watched the end of the stage on TV in a bar.

Awesome performance by Bradley Wiggins. I'm sure I helped by bellowing "GO BRADLEY" in his ear as he passed within inches of me.

We also watched the time trial at Lake Annecy on Thursday. Totally different with 5 hours of racing to watch.

I'll post some pictures when I get home.

Let's hope Cavendish wins tomorrow to put that bloody viking in his place *happy*

Yeah that would be great. Put him in his place good and proper!!

I am jealous of you being out there watching it. I was supposed to go to Paris to watch the finish tomorrow, but have to make do with watching it on Eurosport now....
