I've been sorting out a big pile of old car magazines from my younger days, mainly CCC (who's old enough to remember that magazine?) but came across this in the pile...

I didn't normally buy that magazine but I was actually thinking of buying a Metro Turbo at the time :)

Inside the magazine :)

I can scan it if anyone wants - I thought it might already be posted somewhere anyway as I'm relatively new to the forum.

Yes, I remember - I'm just sorting my collection to see what to keep and what to bin.....

I've scanned and pdf'd the article but I can't access the TM main server at the moment so can't load it (it will have to go on the TM server as it's too large for photobucket etc.)

I'm getting a
"symfony PHP Framework
page not found
Oops! An Error Occurred
The server returned a "500 Internal Server Error".
sort of message....

The main server seems to be working now but simply won't accept the pdf of the article - it's only 18Mb - I'll see if I can host it elsewhere.

The trouble is at 75 I'm not so good on the internet.....

I've got his "Tuning the Mini" book and his CCC workshop practice book which was all of 5 shillings.

Well, I've tried uploading the file (several times) but the upload just crashes - every time.

So unless I can find somewhere to host it that accepts pdf files, you're out of luck ........

I remember them times..was just a couple of years after falklens war, Lady Diana getting married, first space shuttle flight etc....hate to say it, but the Astra on the cover used to be quite fun to drive too...

Tried that too..... each individual page is just over 5Mb as a jpg (at a high enough resolution to be able to read the small text) and if I upload them individually, it doesn't crash (like the pdf does) but there is simply nothing in the directory after the upload.....

Really strange.....

Will the jpegs upload to photobucket or similar OK? There must be some issues with the site uploads at the moment, I won't pretend to have the first idea about how that all works though.

Check your history books, Star Mag -5 shillings is(was) 25p.I used to buy fuel at 4 shillings and nine pence(less than 5p a litre)

Photobucket - which I use 99% of the time - is no good in this case, it downsizes everything to 800x600 which is OK for photos but you wouldn't be able to read a lot of the print in this article at that resolution.

I just got the pdf to apparently upload using "manage attachments" but, like the jpg I uploaded, it's nowhere to be seen !!!

Wierd.

Thanks for the offer Gary but I've figured out a temporary way around it

http://www.thesugdensuk.plus.com/

I've put it on one of my ISPs allocated space - I managed to screw up my "homepage" doing it but I'll fix that later.
