Well, if you drop it off a cliff it will probably reach around 30mph before it hits the beach.

Whats the terminal velocity of a complete Metro Turbo engine and what hight would it have to be dropped from to achieve it?

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Well the questing asks what the top speed of the Metro Turbo engine is. Its not very specific is it. is the engine in a metro, a mini, or were you reffering to the engines red line.

Sorry you didnt see the humourous side of it *oh well*

Probably somewhere around the 100-110mph region. Depending on the condition of the engine.

Well it hardly sounds like a standard metro turbo engine then.

It will just be a case of suck it and see.

Are you really that bothered how fast it will go flat out?

who gives a shit how fast it'll go top speed.

if you want the honest answer, it'll almost certainly be slower than your average family estate soot chucker.

Well i was wondering because a mate has had a 1275 bored out to 1293 and with the standard gearbox it still wont go over 90mph!

He probably has a short final drive. And I wouldn't trust a mini speedo if thats where you're getting the figure from

the fastest ive got a mini to go was about 130mph, on 10" wheels with a 3.44 fd on a stage 2ish 1293, on a very quiet section of my private road (m5) i theres a downhill section between junctions 3 and 2 or 4 and 3.
i took it upto about 9k rpm for about 10 secs and it was fun, i decided to let off as i didnt want to get intimate with my preverto flywheel, and needed the centre main bearing to at least get me home *hehe!*

I was once on a private section of the M1 as a passenger in a 998 mini. The speedo needle was pointing to just before 0MPH when we noticed a police car on a raised ramp on the other carridge way. We both turned round to find a pensioner in a 306 doing 45mph in front of us. Fortunatly that mini had good breaks!

I need clean pants after though!

It was actually a Stage 1 Kitted 1275 at that time Andy. The very 1275 you have in your garage *happy*

No idea how fast, but was behind a Bmw mini cooper (not the S) around the M25 for about 10 miles useing 9psi of boost engine was just past the red line, that's all i was willing to ask of it.
