Right, i know this is miles in advance but i thought i would start the ball rolling on the TM 2010 RR.

It was a good weekend but i think can be improved on so:

My idea is to do the RR on the saturday before MITP at the same place. Then people can run on the sunday at MITP with vastly reduced ques etc and chances are more people would be coming for it anyway.

The weather in theory should be warmer for the bbq's etc and stay lighter longer.

What do people think?

We could organise a bbq at the RR as well since there is plenty of space, although i guess the burger van does the job.

I would guess after running this last one we would want a max of 20cars as although they said they would run 30, i think it would be finishing a bit late.

any other things you think needed improving on from last weekend? all comments will be taken on board and not taken to heart so dont be afraid!

I know matt said something about a tea urn probably wouldnt go amiss.

8-)

The only problem I can see with MITP is that there was very little camping space left when we got there mid afternoon this year. It might be difficult to get a space large enough to get everybody on.

I'd be well up for this next year! Should have the supercharged motor going in full swing easily by then!

What's the cost at NM?

So does this mean I need to have my mini done for MITP then??

MITP was a bit packed out on Saturday when we got there, however it was the 50th this year so may have been a bit more of a turnout than is typical.

Also the IMM was in the UK this year so quite a few from across the water were there too.

I think the same format would be good with perhaps a tea urn at the RR and keep with the burger van. Maybe get the RR to tell him to pack some more bread rolls this year as granary cheeseburgers leave a bit to be desired.

Hopefully JF won't have had a smash in his metro next year so we can get straight over to the pod after the RR, get pitched up and pissed up.

Perhaps a big farking communal BBQ at the pod in the evening would be in order?

Better get my mini built. And if Andy gets his built find a driver for the van! *happy*

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

the other option, and probably prefered by some is to camp at a proper campsite?

if there is enough of us it would be a good laugh, probably cheaper than the £10 per person at pod, plus showers etc for the next morning.

only downside is the ques to get into pod sunday morning and not been able to crack straight on to the track.

Just an idea, but how about hireing a small sprint track for the day rather than a rwyb. Iirc curborough isn't too expensive to have for the day. Or even the haynes test track?

Round of applause for this guy. A bit of track time would be much more fun than the drag strip IMHO.

A tea ern is a great idea. I had a few envious eyes looking at my flask of coffee first thing in the morning. I guess as I do so many events I am more prepared. Combining it with mitp is a great plan too.

I would say more cars could be accommodated if a little better planning is made on which car is next. Although later on there were less gaps, now and again we were missing a car on the rollers.

I think the scales should make a return too, to see how much people have lost over the last year.

there is on local to me actually, near sleaford, an air base that the 16v club did it on?

i could then probably find a field for us all to camp in FOC with plenty of parking. maybe even near town for those of us that fancy a late night boogie!

not from from northampton at all.

only issue i can see is getting the numbers. it was hard enough getting the 13 cars here this time *happy*

but if its all paid for in advance then i guess its not an issue.

The weekend is the problem. Curborough is about £700 a day (weekend), but getting a date will be difficult. Also you have to start thinking about public liability insurance, etc, so is a lot to take on.

Now if you all wanted to get licenses and join the HSA and do a proper race, I think that could be possible!

we'll keep throwing ideas around and dates here and if anybody wants to look into venues etc feel free and post back.

Agree'd though ben, we werent that organised with the runners and could of happily fitted more cars in. next time there will be a run list sorted prior to the event.

£700 a day isnt the end of the world if we get 20 cars though. would mean a RR and track day for under £100 i would hope with the added bits which i dont think is too bad really?

no idea is a bad one!

another good shout, although they wanted us at the RR for 9am so it would mean being at pod for say 8am to have 30mins set up time. the other way round it is to meet up at the RR, then get one or 2 willing volenteers to nip out to pod, chuck a few tents up (pop-up ones) to form a circle, then pop back after getting a pass out. would be there and back in around an hour i guess

Could you not book the RR on the friday, then head over to mitp on saturday?

Although 2 days at pod may get a little boring...
