There's a chap on Metro Owners Club breaking a late car. I'll see if it's available for you.

I take it you want it complete with a reasonable amount of wire still attached.

I also take it that it's a MK2 fuse box your after?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Not much point using a mk 1 metro fuse box - It's a big thing with a few glass fuses in it...

Think I might have something kicking about - I'll have a root at lunchtime.

You an easily extract the connectors by removing the red bar's and replace them with either shielded or unshielded blue spade connectors. which is what I did.

No need for splicing and soldered joints.

Own the day

The penny has dropped what you are after Sprocket and I probably can't help. I have the fuse box from the late Metro/Rover 100.

The one on MOC should have that box. He says he will start pulling the car apart soon...

I have one, maybe two if I can find the second one but totally bare.

ie, I have taken out the "red bars" and the "relay clips" that hold all the wiring in and disposed of the wiring so it's just the two plastic blocks and metal frame plus the bars/clips/screws but absolutely no wiring/terminals or fuses/relays.

I was going to rebuild it for my injection wiring but decided I could make a more compact arrangement with the modular fuse/relay stuff from AES/VWP etc.

Is totally bare any use or did you want one with bits of wire hanging out the back ???

Totaly bare is perfectly fine, it saves me a job lol. What I have become aware of is that the MPi fuse box is the same.

How much do you want for these?

Just postage, I'm never going to use it since I decided the modular stuff suited me better.
I'll post a photo of what I've got tommorow just to make sure it's what you're after.

Piccy,

Same as above except I've photo'd the frame upsidedown (and no holes for the inertia switch .....)

But no wires or lucar connectors, just bare. I think the lucar connectors were the ones with the additional location tang on the back, ie, the red bars and relay plates were a secondary locking device, not the main way of holding the connectors in.

PM me your address if it's what you want.

The connectors do indeed lock in place themselves but the ones in the fuse box aren't regulare lucar connectors and I think are now NLA.
However there are some that work just as well, I will see if i still have a reference number for them. I sent a sample to Autosparks and they posted me a handful of their nearest equivalent.

You're right Graham, I wasn't thinking straight...

But I think they are the same as FBL6, BFT1, BFT4 part way down this page

http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/VWP-...ays/sockets.php

as I ended up using their RS3F modules instead of the Metro assembly and I'm sure the snap-in arrangement was the same.

I'll check later.

EDIT - if the connectors are an issue, I have just dug out my second one (it was in a different box) and, as I expected, I never dismantled it.
So you could have that instead either with all the associated loom or just cut to 100mm (or whatever you want) tails.

The ones in the fuse box are very similar to (but not the same as) 3-2050 at the bottom of that page.

APB - if Sprocket takes Rod's offerings I would be very interested in the ones out of your breaker. Ideally coth boxes, the frame and as much loom as poosible.
