question.. how long do you reckon those would have lasted(standard pistons) if fueling and ignition were spot on and running medium to low boost? The same will just happen to the Omegas if the fuel/ign problem is not sorted, will it not?

apparently not mate , Benross has lowered the CR ratio by opening up the chambers in the head + the omega's have a 10cc dish . so now the motor is a low C motor ... hope that makes a little sense as it dosent to me ..

Quite a while, I'm sure that there are a couple of people on here producing decent power with stock pistons, just racking my brain to remember who.

Ahh.. im talking of standard 1275 pistons, not the turbo ones. Have a rebuilt engine with a cr of 8.5, and thinking of running low boost.. 6-7psi. but i understand I will have to make 100% sure the AFR's are right with not much advance to avoid det.

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

They have a much thinner crown, so it will take a lot less detonation to kill them.

That I understand, though how does a thin crown relate to land breakages? Is that not just down to the piston being made from a lesser quality alloy?

My theory is that standard pistons would be fine with the right CR, fuelling, ignition and decent IC up to 10 or even 12psi.

I base this on my 998 that runs standard pistons. I also ran the 20773s with 18psi and they suvived when everything was fine.

Buying pistons to compensate for bad setup is piontless, but I guess no-one would argue that point.

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph
