Just dug out some old pix of my Minis. Mostly circa 1992 hence the hideous haircut & fashion sense :$. None of the Minis I owned were any good either mechanically or bodywise. I was on a very tight budget but had some happy memories with them all said.

My 1275 GT bought for £150.

Two MK1s I owned. The red one was a 1960 model and the blue was a '66.

My 2nd Mini. Horrible, tatty thing! I can't believe I used to work on it dressed in shoulder pads and stillettos. But it was 1992!

Another shocker!! Check out that permed mullet hairstyle! Alex Drake eat your heart out!

Gets worse! Thank goodness my back is turned. Those really are Dierdie Barlow glasses I'm wearing....

I did get it looking like this eventually though. Not perfect by any means but a good improvement.

It actually got me to St. Ives and back albeit with half the ball bearings missing in main motion shaft bearing & half the casing chewed away......

More bad hair & fashion. Circa 1993/4. My MK1 with 185/55/13 tyres. Did not work with hydrolastic suspension at all.......

Parked up at Brighton Pavilion on the 1st Mini World London To Brighton Run. Two adults & two children slept overnight in this Mini in Crystal palace Park. Gruelling weekend but worth it just to meet John Cooper :)

On route to Dan-yr-ogof to the Brecon Beacons Mini Run. I drove all the way there as a learner in my friend Steve's Mini. Circa 1992/93

My 1st Mini & my friend Steve's brand new one. This Clubman was another sh*tter....... Webasto roof was cool though!

Finally! Myself and my friend Chris's other Mini Cooper which he has left to me in his will *hehe!*

Suck, squeeze, bang, blow........

Thanks :) No plans to go beyond Minis or Metros. Wouldn't mind another MK1 or 2 Escort adding to the fleet, but it certainly wouldn't be a replacement :).

Your GTi sounds interesting, Mike :) What tweaks did you do as I wouldn't mind uprating mine at some point?

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Thankyou :). I mainly do bodywork (had loads of practice as you can see over the years!). I've detailed a few engine bays, prepped and finished a few paint jobs. Cleaning, filling and painting jobs I enjoy.

I'll attempt a few mechanical tasks if they look interesting. I like doing A series cylinder heads. Happy as Larry with a valve compressor and grinding paste. I also rebuilt part of a turbo unit last year and have helped strip a few gearboxes. I have also rebuilt a few twin pot calipers too with new seals and pistons. Will also make patches for welding jobs too.

Heres a before and after pic of my Metro Advantage engine bay that I detailed, plus brake/ suspension cleanup....

Oh wow, that's awesome!

Decent, subtle detailing (well, apart from the block, but everyone loves a bit of red *tongue* Also a well known fact that it gives you at least 20hp increase :) )

A "big butt!" indeed! lol. Hence no bikini shots I'm afraid . However I'm sure Jimster (and some others amongst you *wink* ) have quite vivid imaginations, and could envisage me tinkering with my tappets in a barely there two piece.......
