Im using a Meziere pump (flow 80l/min or something like that) with chiquecento rad. I don't think these pump like restrictions so to be on the safe side I used a shuttle type thermostat. Been fine for 2 years now, and to be honest sometimes struggle to get it up to temp on cold days. lol https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel

Mine runs at 70 degrees most of the time, when mine was idling at 850rpm it would run all day at 80 degrees and no need for an electric fan. :) https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel

Ive just put mine on a switch so the theory was fire the car up then two mins later flick the pump on and i could also leve it on after ive turned the engine off. Rick I'd really think twice about this. If you forget to turn on the pump then all of a sudden your engine is stinking hot and its trouble time. A well known member of this board, who shall remain nameless, did this once at Castle Combe, the result a knackered head gasket and a couple of bent valves as they nipped in the guides. The DON has an electric pump as you know, wired through the fuel pump relay, so that if the fuel pump is running, so is the water pump. Thus it cannot be forgotten about.

I have mine on a switch, it just becomes habit to switch it on now. And it somes in handy to cool the turbo/engine down after you switch it off to avoid heat soak etc.

Going on from this does flow rate really effect it that much, is the ideal flow rate 80litres/min and what will happen if i fit lets just say a 120litres/min what will happen? will it not flow as well due to the coolant being flown to fast ? |
