Bat would build a custom loom for Nic with only that he requires. TBH its nothing taxing, its just a matter of ticking the right boxes on the order form. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:

Don't forget that you can now do traction control with MS even if only using it for ignition. Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."

If i built it with the MS2 code and then wanted to go injection later is it a case of flashing the chip for the different codings, or are they built differently?

The code you would use would be the MS2-Extra code anyway. The siamese code is now effectively a part of the Extra code so whether you just want ignition plus boost control, launch, etc, it's all there.

If you just want boost control and datalogging, then you could just get an Apexi AVC-R and an electronic dash with a data-logger built in.

The trouble with the MSII boost control is that it is rpm based. What we really need is gear based boost control.

Gear-based boost control is likely to make it to MS2/Extra. Also, it is planned to have siamese-port options on MS3 but it may not be right from the start.

On our test bed i can see the boost control working depending on rpm.

just the right code and extra coil driver chips, VB921's or BIP??? and space in the box to fit them (if it's a standard build the heatsink will be full so you will need to make another or bolt the two ignitor chips to the casing). VB921s are now obsolete I believe. BIP373 are the Bosch equivilant but are pricey and only from a few specialists. ISL9V5036P3 or IRGB14C40LPBF are suitable chips (I used the ISL one) but have to be fused as they have no built-in current limiting. But, as already said, if you have an MS2 dump the EDIS, put the two ignitor chips in and use the Extra code. EDIT - I should add that if you are going to do the boost control with a proper PWM (modulating) control valve - which is how the current MS-Extra code expects you to do it - you also need to upgrade one of the MS2's transistors to a bigger one which also has to go on a heat sink. If the MS2 is built for ignition only there will be plenty of space on the existing heat sink as the injector drivers don't have to be installed on the existing heat sink but I found it easier just to add a second heatsink - keeps all options open.
