Somewhere around Swindon

is there an oil filter thats a bit shorter that will fit the mini filter housing and still give good filtration?

I know the 16v Renaults use a short filter as I use one on my 205, however not sure if its the same thread as the Mini one.

Ford KA Halfords own 263/4/6 ones of these look it up. The champion one is longer and the same as a Mini but their own one is what I use as i have a sandwich plate cooler

good info scruffy,

Is this still the short filter to use? I have a sandwich plate stat and need a little one and mine is too long and hits the cross member...

Thanks all

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

appears that there are two HOF264... a viltron branded version that is longer and a halfords branded version that is much shorter... both have the same HOF264 part number.

They don't fit anyway... Some tape and filing required...

Smaller filters will be just that, smaller. Its maybe suggesting replacing the filter twice as often if you have to use one.

Andy is right, the halfords filters are shite. The can might be the same size as an OEM filter, but the paper element inside is much smaller. I ahev cut various filters open before now and I have always found the OEM branded filters to have a much larger element than any of the after market brands. It is beneficial to pay a bit more for a filter.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

So no bits get into the filter housing, I will need to make a small notch out of the cross member

Ok I have had the file out tonight and made a small notch so the filter can clear the subframe.

Your not wrong on the Halfords filter I pulled out a lump of glue whilst use in gone for the mock up.. Not good.

Will have to look for an oem

Can you not get an adapter for the block and then use a remote filter?

A small notch in the subframe so I can spin the filter on. I have ordered some better quality short filters
