How easy would it be to take the front off a City E and fit this one?

Cheers *happy*

just as 'easy' as fitting a roundnose front.

Really just depends on how skilled you are. I'm putting a steel clubman front on a later shell I have for a vauxhall conversion and so far it' easy. Mind you I weld and fabricate every day. *happy*

Hi Garry
I thought it would be stronger if the triangulation went from the subframe straight to the bulkhead, this would mean the bar is pushing into the bulkhead, the way thats done the triangulation looks like its keeping the frame square but actually adds no real torsional strength

Or am i being a bit fik? im not an engineer or anything

Its adding strength to the frame, but not as much as if it was from the frame to the bulkhead.

The other thing youve got to think about when making the front of the car stronger means there will be less of the impact taken by the deformation of panels, and more onto the driver. So youll get a higher deceleration on your unrestrained head and neck.

I bought tht one, to be honest it is poor quality. The bonnet was too tight at the front and leaves large gaps at the back.
There was loads of air bubbles and cracks. It requires a lot of work to fit
Thats my experience.
Heres how i fitted it:

T'da;

Knocked up myself (by which I mean I made them. Not that I've gone and got myself pregnant. At least I don't think I have).

Nice job, Dave. I bought the same frontend for the wife's mini as Haimesyboi. Like his, the one I bought took alot of fettling to fit right and I still could get the bonnet to fit right. Tight at the front, slack at the rear *wink* *hehe!*

I've got arc-angels bonnet and bootlid and the shut lines are a good as the original steel panel.

When I smash the steel front in I shall be going for one of their front ends too.

A bit more pricey but the fit is alot easier and pleasing to the eye
