The original brake pedal position is too high. I'd like to align it with the accelerator. I don't like the idea of bending the brake pedal.

I have cut and shut a clutch pedal, but I don't think I'd try it on the brake.

What year is the car? I think there is some adjustment on the servo models. |

It's a 89 carb, no servo.

Is the clutch the same? If it i made a round piece of allY that was 3/4 thick that raised my master cylinders up effectively lowering my pedals.

No guys, the problem is not the gas pedal. I can bend it. But the brake is too high, I can not reach it without raising my leg, that's very slow. Once pressed brake and gas are aligned.

I reckon the servo brake pedal is different from the non servo pedal, and I dont mean just the clevis pin hole. Edited by Sprocket on 27th May, 2010. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:

So if you lower it then it will be more difficult to heel & tow as the brake pedal will be lower than the throttle when pressed.

I was just thinking about that The non servo pedal is higher as it has to travel more to do the same job as a servo assisted pedal that would travel, perhaps only half as far for the same braking effort. Edit* I don't have any problems heal and toe shifting with the 'high' pedal Edited by Sprocket on 27th May, 2010. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:

The travel of the brake is quite long, that's true. But once disk reached the travel is very short, I don't think it'd hit the floor, today it's quite far from it. Perhaps I just should make more sport to get the leg faster ? Edited by alpa on 27th May, 2010. std 998 A+, g295, MD266, RHF4, 109hp @0.8bar/5400rpm |

Why is it not possible to just cut and weld the pedal to get it where you want it - its what I did in different circumstances. |

I'm not sure where the difference lies, but you can get different pedals.

how about shortening the master cylinder's rod? That would lower the pedal too and should be easier to weld up than the pedal itself. Edited by Arnoud on 31st May, 2010. 1963 Cooper
