well interesting one for me a lot depends if i buy house or not.

Hopefuly I will get the following done over the winter.

1. Cut the front end off and fit a removable front end.

2. Remove the current 998 engine

3. Run all of the fuel lines etc inside the car.

4. Finish of all of the welding

5. Get the manifold and t2 turbo from mirarge

6. Finish the dash board and instrument pod

After the winter

1. KAD four pots and wheels from Carl

2. Set of slicks

3. Perspex windows

4. Eventualy start on the engine and find a carb and inlet manifold.

5. Get the exhaust

6. Then start to put it all together

7. Add the roll center roll cage

8. Fit the competiion fuel tank

9. Get it to a track dash thrash the pants off it then winter 2004 rebuilt to a top spec turbo motor

i `ve just bought a running MG metro turbo for ?50 .
i`m going to rip the complete motor out and try and fit it to my mini .i think i`ll use the ECU and anti runon valve and keep everything standard ie box and drops .
should be a monster , hopefully it`ll be running by 2010 my 9th birthday.

Everyone knows that instructions only have to be read if the thing doesn't work....

I'm only doing a little bit this winter,

Replacing the shell, changing to 10's new gearbox, and going for fuel injection!

Right I've come up with some plans!!

Short term:

Change fuel pump as its naff
re-fit flipfront and add removable bonnet
sort out suspension gemortery(sp)
sort out seat runner so the seat doesn;t have to be fully back!
fit slicks!!

medium term:

intercooler
rolling road tune up
loose more weight
cut arches and slam!

longer term:
carbon fiber doors, boot
chop out rear bluxhead and shelf
proper dash

very long term:
huge engine and gearbox :)

well I've changed my mind on what I'm doing!

I'm half way through tubbing the rear arches, removing the bumper lip and chopping off the valance.

The subby is already out and stripped and waiting for sandblasting before I seam weld and gussett it.

Then I'll see how long I have left till april, and work out what more I can do! I'd like to de-seam it.... but time is the enemy!

Right, a quick list of all the stuff I'm doing/have done this winter:

Engine
+ Quick inspection (it was fine)
+ Change cam (back to Kent 500, Avonbar one to much for a 998)
+ fit belt drive

Gearbox
+Change casing (the one I have is cracked)

Chassis
+ New rear subframe (with a shed load of holes drilled init for lightness)
+ Cut back resr arches
+ Weld a few bits here and there, including new mounts for the cage

Other Stuff
+ New alloy brake callipers (and minifins if I find some cheap enough)
+ A nice shiny set of Leda dampers
+ new intercooler (blew R5 one to bits)
+ Rewar anti-roll bar
+ new lightweight battery

I think that's about it. So far it's all in bits but everything is done to the chassis so it's time to start putting things back together.
