macclesfield cheshire...

i recently sold some parts here and i got scammed to the tune of 350 quid!!!
sold my supercharger set up to mini_turbo_pete and sent to address requested. was paid via paypal. sent item, arrived and then buyer launched none received paypal complaint. Even though i had tracking info I lost. Paypal only covers sellers when sent to paypal confirmed address. I sent it to alternative address as asked.
Warning to others, if sending something and you have been paid by paypal then send it to the confirmed address otherwise you may end up like me!!! (collection only for me from now on - first scam ive had in 9 years of using ebay/paypal and i have sent stuff all round the world)

the person who made the complaint made out that they had actually brought an engine from someone else, and my id was 'cloned', personally i dont think it added up, but still the warning stands re posting. someone has got my supercharger set up for free somewehere.....

disgraceful! can you not go through paypal, showing emails and postage receipts and try to claim it back?

already done as part of the paypal case review process, i have read on other forums that paypal always favours the buyer. the only way not to lose out is to send it to the confirmed address and the buyer (not anyone else at that address) must sign for the parcel. Then you would be mad to claim none delivery.

If you have tracking info (irrespective of "conirmed" address) just tell PayPal you are starting an action in the Small Claims Court naming payPal as an accessory to the fraud.

Do you not remember who couriered it for you? What website? I'm sure if you got in contact they could root out the tracking info?

if you are going to do anything dont hang about, the courier companys only hold the tracking info for about 6 months

PayPal does not only favour the buyer.

I bought some headlights from a trader and they arrived broken, so I refused delivery and they are still showing as in course of return. Paypal said the tracking info I gave them could refer to anything and refused to refund. The sender refused to claim on the Post Offic (too busy !!) so I lost out.

Gobshite that posts wank videos.

Somerset, UK

Was it a home address because if so its a fatal flaw as surely this is technicaly theft or fraud,
So report it to the police maybe you will get the supercharger returned if you act fast?
The small claims court sounds like a good idea
