Well it started with needing our 2 cars on the road as the Mrs (Vicky) and I both work and our son (Ben) was doing 2 weeks of snow camp. Vicky usually walks to work as its only 1/2 mile, and I take the Mondeo but she needs to take Ben to the City centre.
Since MITP was looming and I was busy on the Sprint, the 62 daily Minis MOT had run out. I booked an MOT for it last Monday (2 weeks ago) so I could spend a day over the weekend on it. I done a wheelbearing, steering rack gaiters, balljoints. Adjusted rear brakes etc and dropped it off while I was at work on the monday.
It failed on rear brakes, so I adjusted them again and put it in for a re test the following day. It failed again. The compensator valve was at fault so as I had a few other things to do around the house I left it a couple of days as Vicky borrowed a company car to get Ben to Snowcamp.
On Monday just gone, I dropped it off for another MOT and as it had failed the retest it had to have another full test. It failed as one of the new steering rack gaiters had popped off. I brought it home and sorted it. A few hours later I realised Id lost my wedding ring. I looked everywhere in the house, the garage, the garden, got pissed off, got upset and thought it must be at work somewhere. A few more hours had passed by now and I remembered wiping my hands on the front lawn after doing the gaiter. It took another hour but I found it on the grass luckily.
I dropped off the Mini for the 4th MOT the next day while I was at work, so after work I nervously went to pick it up and they said it wouldnt start. It had been raining all day and thought it just needed some WD40 on the dizzy and plugs but that didnt work so I thought it must be flooded by now. I phoned Vicky to come get me so I could go home and get some tools, plugs etc to go back and fix it. When I got back I couldnt fix it, so went home again to get the trailer and took the car home.
The next day I took out the plugs, fired up my compressor so I could blow air into the cylinders to dry them out and I blew water out of no 2 cylinder. Head gasket.
Took the head off anf the steel tube for the bypass hose stayed in the bypass hose as it was rotten. Sorted that out and its ready to go back on. Its Wednesday this week by now.
The following morning Vicky and Ben are going to drop me off at work then take Ben to Snowcamp but where are the Mondeo keys? Looked everywhere for 1/2 hour. Im late for work, Bens late for Snowcamp and Vicky is pissed off. Turns out when I got my tools and some rubbish out the boot of the Mondeo the night before Id chucked the keys in the bin in the garage with the rubbish, tied it up and chucked it out by the gate. Luckily I realised and emptied it out all over the garage floor and found the keys.
Yesterday, Friday the 13th.
Woke up early, made coffee and I like a fag in the morning with my coffee but didnt have any so I got in the Mondeo and went to the garage to get some while my coffee was cooling. While I was there I filled up with diesel and went home.
Had my coffee and fag in the garden - very nice, then we set off to drop me off at work. The Mondeo started bucking, coughing, farting and we made it as far as Vickys work. One of her colleagues took Ben to snowcamp but I was stuck. Thinking once I get on the dual carriageway and open it up it might clear itself I nursed the Mondeo on my way. I made it to work, late, and after it cutting out about a dozen times on the 6 mile trip.
Pissed off I got into work and was given a really shitty job to do. By 10 am I realised I had put £30 worth of unleaded in the Mondeo. TWAT.
So now I have the Sprint which is not ready for MITP, the daily 62 which has no cylinder head and the Mondeo which is full of the wrong fuel and its all because I was rushing the 62 so I could prep the Sprint, which I didnt even do so unfortunately I cant go to MITP which is pissing me off even more.
Oh, just rembered, last week I painted a rear number plate lamp for a friends GT which Im supposed to take to MITP but 2 hours after painting it, I dropped it and that needs doing again too.

(A pissed) Paul

Hope this makes you giggle

jesus man, I know exactly how you feel! One thing goes wrong, gets you in a bad mood, things just keep building and it's impossible to calm down!

I had an epic rush last week to get my mini ready for setting up at Slark, was in the garage every night until 11, rushing to try and get things done, and last weekend just as I was getting there both my alternator and fuel pump decided to die. then Monday night rushing to get a new rad setup finished I somehow mananged to drop my angle grinder on my leg (cutting steel tube in the dark using a torch light) whilst it was running!

bad times. it can only go uphill from here though mate!

Bloody hell *oh well*

I had a similar week, but entirely work related. Given that I work with heavy machinery and high voltage, my doctor signed me off work before I kill my self *oh well*

I share your feelings at the moment.

Piece of advice. Take five deep breaths and let them out with an Ahhhhh. Do this each time you feel a little tension. This advice comes from a work collegue whom is a good friend of Paul Mckenna

Snowcamp is at the Xcape building, indoor ski slope.
He does skiing every morning, then lunch, then on Monday afternoon its bowling, tuesday- cinema, wednesday- Airkix, thursday- rock climbing, friday- wake boarding at the lake.
He loves it

I seriously doubt it!

That sounds like a nightmare Paul, as Joey says everyone sometimes have days where nothing goes right, and days where you couldnt put a foot wrong, but come along to MITP anyway and have a beer with us!

Well sorted the Mini headgasket, sorted the Mondeo and now the Mini has passed the MOT.
Turns out they were testing the brakes as an 800kg car. When I produced the Haynes which states 638kg for a '62 Mini it passed with flying colours
